Introduction

Welcome to The Rise of the Ezekiel 38 Nations: Study Guide! This small group curriculum was developed to answer the important questions regarding the list of nations the Bible teaches will attack Israel in the last days and what is taking place in those nations today.

As you are aware, the nations of the Middle East dominate today’s headlines. Iran’s defiance regarding their development of nuclear weapons is causing world tensions. Syria wrestles with war in its own streets. After Egypt’s revolution it has chosen a majority of radical Islamic leaders to govern. How do these events impact you?

It is no accident that as these issues are taking place, oil prices are predicted to rise to alarming levels. This in turn causes rising inflation across the world on the daily purchases we make, from food to clothes, from cars to homes.

Biblically, Christians are taking a new interest in how these world events connect with biblical prophecy, especially with what the prophet Ezekiel foretold in chapter 38.

Why Ezekiel 38? In this chapter God reveals to Ezekiel a list of nations that will attack Israel in the last days. When the modern identities of these nations are made, they include Russia, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and parts of North Africa—the same nations making headlines today.

Are the events we are seeing in the Middle East today connected to what God predicted would happen 2,600 years ago?

To examine this passage in light of the events we are seeing today, we will look at the rise of these Ezekiel 38 nations. In four information-rich programs, we will seek to understand:
