About this ebook

When we ask ourselves, “What does God want me to do with my life?” the final verses in Matthew 28, called the Great Commission, reveal God’s heart—“make disciples.” Pastor and author Robby Gallaty shares what Scripture teaches regarding the promises and command Jesus gave to all Christians in the Great Commission. We’ll address questions such as: What is the main command of the Great Commission? What does it mean to be a disciple? How are we to make disciples? These 6 lessons provide a biblical foundation for us to follow.

    Introduction

Welcome to the Make Disciples: Jesus’ Call to All Christians Study Guide! This small group curriculum was developed to answer the difficult questions many have regarding the Great Commission and how to live it out today.

Many people view the Great Commission as the great suggestion, but Jesus calls His followers to a sacred and powerful reality. Pastor and radio Bible teacher Robby Gallaty helps believers understand the joy and challenge of Christ’s final words, tackling topics such as:

*How to respond when life falls apart

*What does it really mean to make disciples?

*Where can we begin in living out the last words of Jesus?

    And much, much more…

Living the Great Commission is a great adventure. Make Disciples: Jesus’ Call to All Christians Study Guide provides the tools and encouragement to get you there.

We look forward to how this study will help you both better understand your own Christian faith and how it will help you in sharing your faith with others. Through it, we hope you will be better able to contend for the faith (Jude 3) as well as to show Christ’s love to those in need.

This study guide was created to use with our videos available as M4Vs or DVDs at https://www.jashow.org/resources/make-disciples-jesus-call-to-all-disciples.html. We have also included the links to our online transcripts for each of the programs in this study guide.

    For Your Group

This specific study guide is uniquely designed to help provide an opportunity to hear on a unique issue influencing our world. We encourage group discussion, with groups of no more that twelve in size, or to divide larger classes into smaller groups for a portion of each study to discuss questions. Group leaders (or table leaders in larger groups) are responsible to direct each meeting, prepare for each session’s study time, build relationships with group members, and seek to involve each person in a meaningful manner. Through this personalized combination of quality teaching and interactive discussion, we have designed each session to provide an educational and life-changing experience for each person involved.

    How to Use This Guide

    Interact

At the start of each session is a brief summary of the session along with a couple of opening questions related to the topic. Each group will want to discuss this material together before watching the DVD. This Getting Started section is written to prompt discussion, surfacing the difficult questions the DVD will later answer. Each person should feel free to share their perspective on this segment as time allows, providing a variety of viewpoints before watching the teaching material.

    Watch

Next, each session includes watching a video segment of approximately 20 minutes in length. The DVD should be prepared and cued ahead of time to maximize the group’s time together [HINT: If meeting in a public venue or are simply meeting in location that requires you to be mobile, you can cue the DVD using a laptop computer, a portable DVD player, or even purchase the downloadable
