Introduction

WHEN CHRISTIANS HEAR the words spiritual warfare they may think of Jesus encountering demons in his earthly ministry, or stories of missionaries in foreign lands dealing with the bizarre and the supernatural. However, the spiritual warfare currently taking place around the world does not manifest itself primarily in the demonic, but surprisingly, through the power of ideas. Ideas, whether good or evil, can create blessings or destruction. 

The late philosopher Dallas Willard wrote, Ideas are very general models of our assumptions about reality. They are ways of thinking about and interpreting things... Examples of ideas may include freedom, education, the American dream, church, democracy, justice, family, God and so on.[1] Willard also wrote concerning the power and influence of ideas that The killing fields of Cambodia come from the philosophical discussions of Paris.[2] Meaning, ideas are so powerful that the communist ideas formulated by Karl Marx in France later were used to justify totalitarianism and violence in Cambodia.[3]

Therefore, since ideas are the building blocks of reality, Satan, the author of lies who knows this, uses ideas to accomplish his destructive agenda on earth. To counter Satan’s false ideas, apologetics used by the dedicated follower of Christ can defeat
