- JOANA LIMA is an Assistant Professor at the University of Évora (Portugal) and a researcher at the CIDEHUS Research Unit (University of Évora) and GOVCOPP Research Unit (University of Aveiro). She holds a Degree in Economics from the University of Coimbra (2005), a Master in Tourism Management and Development from the University of Aveiro (2009) and a Doctoral Degree in Tourism, also from the University of Aveiro (2015). She participated in several research projects on social tourism in Portugal, integrates the research team of the Alentejo Sustainable Tourism Observatory and is also a member of the Alliance on Training and Research in Social and Fair Tourism - ISTO. Her research interests include social tourism, family tourism, tourism social and economic impacts, accessible tourism and the tourist experience.

I love cocktails. The reader certainly does too. However, cocktail recipes are varied and from different countries. The purpose of my book series is to promote the flavors of Portugal, so I chose to create recipes for delicious Portuguese liqueur flavors with natural ingredients in this book.
Our liqueurs basically contain brandy, fruits, and herbs.
As for cocktails with Portuguese drinks (includes some), you can find some drinks if they are imported into your country. Try looking for Portuguese immigrant stores or ordering online. Another option is to substitute similar drinks.

The preparation
Bottles for storing liqueurs should be made of dark glass to prevent light from entering the interior. They must be sterilized before use, for example, by boiling water and placing it inside the bottle, shaking and drying. There are those who put it in normal (transparent) glass, but during maturation the bottle is kept in a dark place (so the light doesn't oxidize).
It can make liqueurs from virtually any fruit or herb.
The first factor to consider when making a liqueur has to do with the alcohol content of the brandy because the amount of water and sugar that will be used depends on it. That is, if it has an alcohol content of 40º for 1 liter of brandy, you should use about 500 gr. of sugar and 650 ml of water. If it has an alcohol content of 70º for 1 liter of brandy, the same
