    I am addressing this shift in the introduction of this book because our current perceptions, thought processes, and behaviors with regard to school and home discipline protocols are outdated.     The brain-aligned discipline focus on well-being for adults is the cornerstone of the new discipline focus. This means that the behaviors we want to sprout and flourish are the behaviors we want to give the most attention to.

    The way in which we attend to a disorder, a disability, or a disturbance determines the relationship that is created. When we label, judge, and assess based on our own thoughts, perceptions, and stories, we unintentionally disrupt and rob the ground of safety.
