This book is a really valuable collection of wisdom, experience, and patriarchal/matriarchal advice.

This is an excellent book on how God works in our life through His order to bring about the many blessings He has for us. Sandra does an outstanding job detailing the beautiful partnership between her and the Lord as they work together to bring about His promises in her life. Her desire to seek Him, listen, and follow Him through the years and waiting joyfully on the promise is an example for every area of our lives.

I read the book in one day. You made me smile and laugh. You made some very interesting observations from a woman’s perspective. I’ve heard many sermons preached on this topic. In all honesty everything you said resonated in my heart but has never been confirmed in any pastoral teaching/preaching in my life/walk…all those teachings said to wait and the Lord will bring him to you.

Sandra, I sat down and read your book straight through. What a beautiful story coupled with grounding principles—an inspiring and insightful read.

I chiefly dedicate this book to my Lord and Savior,
JESUS CHRIST,
Who has taught me that He is more real than what I
can see with my own eyes.
He is my champion, my life-giver, and my powerful
GOD.
I also affectionately dedicate this book to my very
dear husband, James Sommerfrucht, who is my
soul-mate, my encourager, my dream-husband,
and best earthly friend a wife could ever have.
Foreword
James 4:8 – Come close to God and He will come close to you.
I once read about an individual who didn’t believe in God because he complained that God is not personal. Immediately, questions popped into my mind: How could he make that assumption? Did he ever try to reach out to God? Did he read about God or talk with others who know Him on a personal basis?
How does a human being on this earth get to know another human being personally? Maybe you have seen someone at a distance, but, then, if you really want to know that person better, you introduce yourself, or do something to get that person’s attention.
The most intriguing and extraordinary thing about God is that you don’t have to introduce yourself to Him; He already knows who you are. He created you and knows everything about you—even your thoughts. He gave you the color of your eyes, skin, and hair, and He also put inside you gifts to enable you in your journey through this life, and, as some say, He left a vacuum, an empty space that needs to be filled with Him to be fully engaged and to put all the puzzle pieces of your life into place.
You might think you are totally alive, but, until you make a connection with your Creator, you are like a person who is missing in action. You are lost, confused, and possibly headed in the wrong direction. You might be fighting against yourself, not realizing the gifts with which you were born and not understanding your purpose for being on this earth.
What does it mean to be personal with God in the first place? In this book it means to wake up in the morning and say, Hello
to your Maker even though you can’t see Him, but you know that He is there. Also, it may mean talking with Him throughout the day about your problems and waiting for the answer, knowing that He will answer. And He may even answer aloud! Luke 1:37 says, Nothing is impossible with God….
You just need some faith, and you will get faith if you take the time to investigate this incredible God and invite Him into your life. You can start your investigation by reading this book, which is based on the Holy Bible, and by reading, of course, the Bible itself, which is the most important book in the world.
Some think of an intimate relationship as one you have with your husband or wife, but it is much deeper than that. Some husbands and wives do not share their deepest concerns or their ugliest thoughts, but you know that you can talk about anything with your Creator because of His unconditional love for you. He will forgive you of your most unsightly sins and never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). It just requires something on your part called repentance, asking Him for forgiveness, forgiving yourself, and making Him the Lord of your life (Romans 10:9).
And there is one essential thing that makes entrance into friendship with Him so easy but also so monumental. He asks that you receive His Son Jesus Christ Who died for you and gave you eternal life (Romans 10:9) and when you do it, mean it. What an uncomplicated way for you to make the best, most personal friend that you can ever have!
Just read this book, and at the end, repeat the prayer you find there with sincerity in your heart.

The Awakening
It was early in the morning of summer, a favorite season of mine because I could sleep a little later than when I would get up to go to work. I really don’t want to call it work, though, because I had the privilege of teaching my favorite age-group of people. It was not work but an honor, an absolute delight! God had made me just for them, and I loved them adamantly. They were teenagers taking English, Latin, and, later, Bible History and Literature, at the public school of Brazoswood High School in the area of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Even though I wanted to sleep later, I had made a vow to the Lord that summer to pray at 5:30 a.m. In the fall, I would be arising at 4:30 a.m. so that I could pray and get dressed to drive to school. However, that summer was a first for me, so I had set my alarm for 5:30 a.m.
I awoke about 5:27 a.m. and looked at the clock, seeing that I only had three minutes before that alarm would go off. I didn’t speak out loud, but in my mind only, I thought, Lord, I am just too tired! Can I get started with my new prayer plan on another day?
To my startling surprise, when the clock turned to 5:30, and the alarm
