About this ebook
As a single mother, it’s easy to think because you’re doing everything alone, that you are alone. You cook, clean, and pay bills alone. You make decisions alone. You provide for your family alone. The absence of a physical person to support and encourage you can easily make you feel unsupported and even unseen. God sees you. But what does that mean? Why is it so important to know that God sees you? Great question. Being fully confident that God sees you confirms that you are never by yourself. God is and will always be there to strengthen and guide you.
In Dear Single Mom, God Sees You, author Dr. Kisha Cheree Tinson encourages single mothers with her message that God sees and will help you through your most difficult challenges. Through personal letters of her life as a single parent, guided self-work, scripture study, and prayer, Tinson invites you to take comfort in knowing the omniscient God who created the heavens and the earth sees you. You are not forgotten by God or invisible to Him. In fact, you are always in His sight.
May this encouraging devotional provide single mothers with uplifting motivation and heartfelt connection, assuring that God sees and cares.

To Mom and Dad,
I love you both so much. Thank you for being my greatest teachers and, most of all, for introducing me to Jesus Christ as my Savior.
To My Ki’Amber,
You are the motivation behind everything I do. You push me in ways you will never comprehend. Mommy loves you.
To the Tinson Clan and Outlaw (Sharon, Cynthia, Kim, Will, & Vandeon),
Thank you for always encouraging me to try. I am proudly standing on your shoulders.
Introduction
In the midst of faults and failures, stand by me.
In the midst of faults and failures, stand by me.
When I do the best I can
All my friends misunderstand
Thou who knowest all about me
Stand by me.
—Stand by Me,
lyrics by Charles Albert Tindley
However, the Lord stood by me and gave me strength so that I could finish spreading the Good News for all the nations to hear. I was snatched out of a lion’s mouth.
—2 Timothy 4:17 (GWT+)
When God placed this book in my spirit over three years ago, I was very conflicted. On one hand, I felt honored that God chose me to do anything for Him. On the other hand, I felt so unworthy and ill-equipped for the task. I envisioned the writer of a book like this as someone older, more spiritually seasoned, or even a pastor. But God, here I am, just Kisha. I am stepping out on my faith, Your word, and the words You have spoken into my spirit on countless occasions.
To the best of my ability, I have been transparent about my life, hoping that the lives of countless others will be encouraged on their journey and in their pursuit of You. Through these letters, I pray single mothers will see themselves the way You see them and will trust You fully, knowing that You care for us in a special way. I know how it feels to think you are invisible to others. I have also experienced the inexplicable joy of being seen by God. If I can help just one person experience You in a new way, this was all worth it.
So God, just like every other endeavor in my life, it’s You and me. I will say what I always say, In thee oh Lord I put my trust, please don’t let me be put to shame
(Psalm 31:1). Instead, let each word resound in the hearts of the readers who need a deeper connection with You. Pour out Your Spirit and cover my flaws. Most of all, stand by me.
Letter 1
Dear Single Mom, God Sees You
She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: You are the God who sees me,
for she said, I have now seen the One who sees me.
—Genesis 16:13 (NIV+)
The story of Abraham and Sarah is one of the most inspiring testimonies of hope, faith, and patience. God promised Abraham and Sarah a son, but because of their age and physical limitations, they doubted His promise. If you are familiar with this Bible story, you may have heard about Abraham and Sarah. Very little is told about Hagar.
Hagar was a maid to Sarai, who would later be named Sarah. God promised Sarai and Abram
