    USED LOVE

    Prologue

A person who, thanks to false promises or the purchase of voter’s votes, has achieved power at the first level, he will never stop himself at anything in reaching the second level and so on until. The country where such a person was born is not the limit…

    Summary of the first book

Felix Saenko, a successful businessman, was charged with drug trafficking, taken into custody and placed in a temporary detention center. His cellmates intimidate him into a frenzy, and Felix gives up his business in exchange for freedom. Following the advice of his wife, under the guise of a homeless man, the businessman hides in a garbage processing plant belonging to her. Here he will face severe trials. Felix sees the funeral of Felix, he understands that everything that happened to him is just a good staging, the purpose of which is to physically eliminate and take possession of the property. However, he manages to avoid the fate of being eaten by rats. Felix is still alive.

Here are the twists and turns of random participants in these events: the prostitute Lisa; the orphan Yura; the talented journalist Anna; the brave paratrooper Gleb. Altogether, they make an escape from the landfill.

    Chapter 1

Sometimes the best way out of a dead end is to enter

The car stopped in the yard, near the garbage cans. Lifting the tailgate, the driver released Gleb. He signaled, and the fugitives quietly left the stinking belly of the garbage truck. Felix decided to try to meet his friend and ask for help. If the meeting takes place, then the rest is decided along the way. In the meantime, the group will be waiting for him at the construction site.

Guys, where is the nearest metro station? Felix asked.

Around the corner, five hundred meters away, Novoslobodskaya station, Lisa replied.

    Thank you. We need money?

Here I have a hundred, Yura suggested.

And I have a ten-year anniversary, Anna replied.

Not much, at least enough for a payphone card, Felix sighed.

Good luck, Mr. millionaire, Gleb said, patting him on the shoulder.

They took shelter at the construction site, and Felix, shaking off the garbage left on his clothes after a trip in a garbage truck, went out into the street.

When he reached the line of stalls, he saw that almost everywhere the cards were sold for 105 rubles. This means that there will still be money for matches, which are never superfluous, and even more so in the current conditions.

It's kind of been a good day, Felix said. In the morning, everything goes like clockwork. Ugh, ugh, ugh. Just don't jinx it! he slowed down and looked around. Here's a payphone. And here is the subscriber's number?

The right phone number was written in huge numbers on an ad for a company that distributed the best sports equipment. This company belonged to a fellow hunter whom he had once saved.

Body to Business is listening, said a pleasant female voice on the other end of the line.

I need to talk to your boss?

    Please introduce yourself?

Tell me, a hunting friend who drowned with him is calling?

    Please wait?

Music started playing on the phone.

Director Vladislav is listening to you, speak up, the same sweet voice politely notified after a few seconds.

Vlad, it's me... Don't say my name. Did you find out?

    Not yet!

    Autumn, Volga, duck hunting...

I remembered. But you, Vlad said in surprise.

More on that later. I need help?

    Got it. Tell me?

Felix named the landmarks of his location.

Wait, I'll be back in my Hummer in an hour. You saw him?

In order not to attract too much attention, the fugitive went around the corner of the building, praying that the police patrol did not appear, and endless minutes of waiting began. He was shaking slightly with excitement.

It's good that there are still people like Vlad! Felix thought. Not everything is being bought and sold yet?

Memories came flooding back of their own accord...

Autumn has just started and has come to the middle of September. The weather was warm as summer. Sometimes it is much cooler in June than it is now. Vlad Petrovsky was invited to a duck hunt in the Volga Delta. He called his comrade Felix, of course. The friends took two sleeping bags, a tent, a drink and a snack. Just don't think ahead of time that they forgot their guns or ammunition. We collected everything necessary for duck hunting: wading boots, a rubber boat, an engine, even a specially trained Kurtzhaar dog named Roy. We boarded a plane and flew to Astrakhan.

We arrived, and there was an ambush: SUVs and even crossovers were rented at the rental point. The only thing that is suitable left is a four-wheel-drive Volkswagen Sharan. Vlad drank a lot to the health of the crew, so he climbed into the car and fell into the back seat. Then he fell into a deep sleep. Felix himself had to drive the car all the way to the base – the village of Zhana'ul.

After setting up the navigator, he set the route and drove off. At the entrance to some village, Felix decided to fill up a full tank. Unsuspecting, he drove up to the lighted gas station. A large illuminated sign by the side of the road indicated that there was no fuel available. Felix looked in the window and asked the operator:

Where can I buy gasoline A-95?

If you drive six hundred meters, there will be a gas station, there is the gas you need, the operator replied, evaluating the car.

Felix drove through the village, drove out of the village, and there was still no gas station.

What nonsense, I drove six kilometers, but I didn't see a gas station? The driver was surprised, turned the car around and drove back to the village.

From the pedestrian, Felix got a description of the nearest gas station, similar to the one he had just visited.

"Is there another gas station in your village?

the local replied in the affirmative.

    "A

little further than the one I told you about?"

    Thank you very much?

Now Felix understood where he had screwed up. It turns out that he went in the wrong direction. As he passed a gas station that glowed with lights and didn't have the right fuel, he clocked the mileage and counted off six hundred meters.

History repeated itself. There are six hundred meters, but there is no gas station. And then Felix's attention was drawn to the Zhiguli going to the right, its headlights illuminating the gas pumps and a shabby building with a dimly lit window.

What a gas station! he said, and drove into a concrete area covered with potholes and dust.

He stopped at the pump and put the gun in the tank. For some reason, the lock on the gun was not fixed, and this should have alerted him, but knowing that the amount of gasoline and the amount are always displayed on the indicator, he went to the cash register, gave money: For everything?

When he got back to the car, he turned on the gun, but instead of the usual quiet purr of the pump and the gurgling of the gas flowing out of the gun, he heard the rumbling rattle of the pump. In the dim light coming from the car's interior, Felix saw the miracle of Soviet technology, a rarity switch, and realized that when he started refueling, he did not look at the time.

How do we calculate the cost of fuel that has entered the tank? wondered Felix, scratching his head. The gas

    station suddenly went silent.

How much gas did you fill me with? the driver asked the gas station attendant.

As much as you paid for?

And how much did I pay for?

    For thirty-six point three liters?

How much did you pour for me?

    As much as you bought?

    And how to control it?

It was necessary to write down the numbers that the arrows pointed at?

Thank you, I understand, Felix said, disappointed, and got into the car and drove away?"

There was still a long time to shake on the road with broken asphalt, as if after a bombing. Many cars, both cars and SUVs, were driving towards Zhanaaul. Felix left them all behind in his rolling Sharan, guided by the native Russian proverb: more speed – less holes, and at some point just soared above the ground. It turns out that this is the end of the asphalt and the beginning of the dirt road! Knowledgeable people here pulled over to the side of the road, but Felix, like a real hero, did not look for easy ways. Go ahead, straight ahead! The springs of the minibus, sensing freedom, straightened with a hard click, and then the bus made a soft landing, but not on all four wheels, and it was carried away. After coping with the drift, the hunters continued on their way. Vlad woke up from the shock and stared at the road without blinking. After a couple of phone calls to adjust the route, Felix finally reached the pick-up point and drove into the courtyard of the so-called hunter's base, put the bus in the place indicated by the owner. Having prepared a tent for the night, they took the food and went to the gazebo where their hunting companions had been sitting for a long time. As usually happens in such cases, they drank, ate, drank again, and ate again. We drank on them for good luck and went to bed. And there was no more than three hours of sleep left.

Having heard the walking of our comrades, our heroes woke up, dressed in hunting clothes and put on high rubber boots on their feet. The camp bag with provisions, weapons, ammunition, and other necessary small items were loaded into the boat. Seven hunters: five adults, a boy and Felix's dog – Roy-were placed in three boats. A lantern was installed on the front to see where to go, and they pushed off from the shore.

They went at a fairly high speed, often winding and sometimes almost running into a boat going ahead. The vast expanse of water, dotted here and there with islands of reeds, was reached when it began to turn gray. When approaching the reed thickets, the hunters had to overcome a floating glade of water lilies. The first two boats successfully sailed, and the last one, which had Vlad, Felix and Roy, stalled the engine. They started the engine, started the forward movement – the engine roared at maximum speed, the boat did not even twitch. Meanwhile, the rest of the hunters took shelter in the reeds that caught their eye. No one was going to miss the morning flight because of the sluggish hunters.

Turning off the engine, Vlad decided to examine the engine. It turned out that the screw and the shaft on which it is attached lived separate lives. Cut the clutch, and they don't have a spare. Somehow, using the oars, we reached the nearest reeds and, clinging to the branches with our hands, pushed the boat deep into the reeds. It was necessary to hide in the branches and become invisible to the flying ducks.

To the right, about ten kilometers away, the first rumble of gunfire was heard.

There are shots fired near the old cemetery, Vlad stated knowledgeably.

Soon, the shots merged into a continuous cannonade. The sound carried for miles across the water, making it seem as if everyone was armed with automatic multi-shot rifles. Finally, Felix saw the first ducks. They were flying about two hundred meters to the east of the immobilized boat. There was a deep rumble of gunfire, and one duck fell on the leaves of the water lilies.

Well done, five shots duck! grinned Felix maliciously.

A new group of six ducks went north to the other boat. More shots, and another trophy. We waited for about ten minutes, but there was no more summer. The hunters started their boats and left. Only Vlad and Felix remained standing.

The red ball of the sun rose completely above the reeds, and there was no way to see the ducks in the rays of the rising sun. But the birds now saw the loser hunters from afar. Even those that seemed to be coming straight at them, flying no closer than a hundred and fifty meters, all together turned off course and passed by at a safe distance. The unsuccessful hunters tried to drive their boat further into the reeds, and were so carried away that the ducks, driven out, crossed the open country without hindrance and disappeared into the thicket of the nearest thicket. Felix's shot, sent in pursuit, only cut the grass, causing no harm to the birds. The dog barked, as if to say, Well, you hunters, shoot past! and jumped out of the boat. The owner did not stop her, deciding to let her chase the ducks. At this time, a duck flew straight at them, just in time for Vlad's shot. There was a deafening pop above Felix's head, and the bird fell into the water about twenty meters from the reeds. Roy heard the shot, but he didn't see the bird falling. Felix picked up the apple and tossed it in the direction of the fallen duck. The apple landed two meters short of its target. The dog swam to the apple, grabbed it in his teeth, and brought it into the boat. Now Felix took the spent shell casing, threw it in the direction of the game, and commanded the Swarm: Look for it! A moment later, the duck was in his mouth. Snorting and panting, he swam to his master and stopped beside the boat.

Well done, Roy! the owner praised the dog and turned to Vlad. Take a sausage from my bag and give a small piece to Roy. We need to thank him?

Vlad made a change, and the Swarm continued to explore the reeds, but no more ducks flew out at the hunters. The dog asked to come on board. The sun rose high. The flight of the ducks has stopped, and there are no partners to be seen.

What time do you usually hunt?

Until the vodka runs out! laughed Vlad.

It's eight o'clock, Felix noted, glancing at his watch. "Wow, the prospect is drawn! Sit in the boat in the sun until evening... Of the provisions, only a loaf of bread, a sausage ring, a liter of juice and a thermos of tea. Everything else, and most importantly, our alcohol is also with our comrades. Yes, we were in trouble. But there's nothing to do. Will wait.

After eating a little, the hunters took off their seats, put their outer clothing on the bottom of the boat, and went to bed to shorten the time. The dog settled down at their feet, and immediately felt comfortable. Somewhere in the distance, I heard the hum of an engine.

"If they are ours, they know where to look for us. If not, that's fine, Felix thought, and fell asleep to the approaching buzzing.

The hunters were awakened by the spray that fell on their faces and the roar of gunfire. At the same time, just a meter above them, a duck flew by, and they pressed themselves into the boat. Roy tried to jump up, but his master held him down with his feet. Without noticing the boat hidden in the reeds, the shooters in the excitement of the hunt swept after the flying bird. The friends jumped to their feet and shouted after them, but the noise of the engine running at full power drowned out their voices. Vladislav raised his rifle and fired upward. No reaction, and a minute later the boat was already far away. Suddenly, the friends noticed that their boat was punctured and was rapidly losing air. Of the three compartments, only one remained intact. Quickly putting the most valuable things in one bag and constructing a sunbed for things and a dog from the almost submerged boat, the hunters jumped overboard. The water was just above the waist, and quite warm. The question is how long to wait.

What time is it? Felix asked Vlad.

And he was horrified to find that the watch, which he had not removed from his hand for three years, was missing. The bracelet must have broken.

About an hour, by the looks of it, Vlad replied, glancing up at the sun.

Lunch passed, and then two more hours. Standing chest-deep in the water, the friends ate the sausage, finished their tea, and gave the dog a piece of loaf. The sun was already rolling downhill. The clothes, unfortunately, no longer dried under the sun, but rather absorbed the water that had crept up to the collar. It was getting chilly. The slight chill had turned into a constant shivering all over.

It won't be long before you get hypothermia. Well, where are our partners?! shaking and chattering, Vlad began to think aloud.

They're obviously waiting for the hunt at sunset before they miss us?

Felix wasn't happy about the prospect.

It was quite dark... The gunshots and the whirring of the engines had died away, and only the annoying mosquitoes buzzed over the heads of the wrecks. If it wasn't for the mosquito repellent, then both the guys and the dog would be completely ill.

No joke, they had been standing in waist-deep water, even if it was warm, for eight hours straight! Her legs refused to support her body. My lower back ached unbearably. His body trembled with every muscle, generating heat…

The first stars appeared in the sky. The friends held on with the last of their strength, knowing that if they fell into the water, they would not get up. Gradually, the consciousness was dulled, and the thoughts of preserving life gave way to the dream of warmth and comfort. The urge to lie down was overwhelming. Sensing something was wrong, Roy ran his tongue over his master's face. Felix came to his senses and saw only his friend's face on the surface of the water. It seems that Vlad was ahead of him in wanting to lie down. With the last of his strength, Felix pulled his friend out of the water and pushed Roy into the rest of the boat. Fortunately, Vlad didn't have time to drink too much water. With unruly hands, Felix unscrewed the engine from the transom and threw it into the water. Guns and ammunition flew after him. Freed of the extra weight, the wounded boat lifted the friend and the dog clinging to him. The movement warmed Felix a little. With a superhuman effort, he forced himself to sit down several times. And even though it was necessary to plunge up to the neck in water, the work of the muscles brought both the body and the mind into tone. It became easier.

A shot rang out somewhere nearby. Realizing that they were looking for them, Felix tried to shout, but could only make a hoarse sound. He was half-whispered to Roy, Voice! but the dog only shook and began to lick his face. The shot rang out again. But already on the sidelines.

They won't find us, they'll pass us by in the dark… And after an hour, there will be no point in looking at it at all. There is no place for three people on this float. We'll all drown, Felix almost despaired, but then a saving thought came to him.

He ducked under the boat and tried to find the rifle. The attempt was successful. As soon as he broke the rifle he had picked up from the bottom, a stream of water hit him in the chest. Felix put the gun on the raft, and then he went back into the water. I found a bandolier. Catching his breath, he took out a cartridge and inserted it into the chamber. He released the safety catch, put the gun to his shoulder, and pulled the trigger. Instead of a shot – a pitiful hiss and spitting of shot literally under his feet. The wet cartridges became useless. Felix took out two at once, inserted them, and tried to close the bolt. One, two, and three attempts failed. Due to the fact that I had to do everything with my hands above my chest, I didn't have enough strength. With the words: Felix pressed the butt against the fallen Vlad and finally managed to fold the rifle. Vlad groaned. "Thank God! Felix sighed with relief and pulled the trigger. There was no
