Somewhere in the world - Erick Carballo
The history contained in this book is a work of fiction. Some names, characters, places and facts are the result of the author's imagination or have been used in a fictitious way and should not be considered real. Any resemblance to living or dead people, real events, places or organizations is mere coincidence.
This work is dedicated to the woman in my life: Luz María Hernández Gutiérrez, who has been my breath and inspiration, encouraging me to undertake this adventure in the wonderful world of writing.
Summary
Felipe is a young man from Equatorial Guinea, who is convinced that somewhere in the world he will find the happiness he wants by facing alone and with difficulty some challenges that will try to impede his progress.
Prologue
It was the afternoon of any Saturday in March, the atmosphere was flowing normally. People strolling through one of the busiest streets in the city. Happy children with their skates, accompanied by their parents, young people with their mobile phones playing in the applications, sending messages or having a telephone conversation and others with a book under their arm.
A soft melody sounded, played by a street artist with his guitar. No one came to listen to him. Everyone passed by. Behind him, there was a young man with his mobile phone sending messages; and next to him, a couple of boyfriends kissing passionately. Hundreds and thousands of people passed along that avenue. Everything was in harmony and calm.
People looked a lot and asked questions about places they didn't know, especially tourists.
In the square, there were shopping malls, restaurants, bars and fast food outlets, each with its own terrace, where young and old people had a coffee, a glass of wine or a beer, accompanied by a good talk.
Chapter I
A vehicle of official use approached, getting down of the same two traffic officers with the purpose of watching that cars, motorcycles or bicycles did not pass, due to the fact that the street was pedestrian. Suddenly, a food delivery man was riding his bicycle, so he was approached by one of the traffic officer, while the other officer looked around.
Gentleman, gentleman! Stop for a moment, please!
Of course, officer,
answered the deliveryman, braking his bicycle.
What's the matter? Don't you know that traffic on this street is forbidden?
asked the officer, looking at him.
No, sir. I didn't,
said the boy surprised.
Well, this law came into effect in October last year,
said the agent, taking out a small book containing the traffic regulations. So, now you know, okay?
Okay, okay.
If you want to drive on this street, you have to walk, otherwise you have to take one of the alternate streets near it.
All right, officer. Thank you very much for the information,
he left.
The food deliveryman went on his way, taking into account the order given to him by the traffic officer, although this caused the young man to deliver his orders several minutes later.
Ten minutes later...
An intercom rang, and after a few seconds the voice of a young woman was heard.
Hello!
I'm the delivery man! Will you open the door, please? I have your order.
Then the doorbell rang with a recording: "Door open, please close after
