The Art of Self-Esteem - Joan Grace Amira

    Introduction

Millions of people struggle with feelings of inadequacy, worthlessness, and destructive self-criticism. If you're reading this, then it's likely that you want to boost your self-esteem.

To have confidence, it is essential to know oneself, which becomes more critical as you read through this book. While it is beneficial to read each chapter in full, you should feel free to ignore any advice irrelevant to your situation.

This book will help you become more self-confident, even in social interactions.

It also offers information on how to improve your self-perception and behavior when you are in the company of others and provides techniques to help you become more at ease.

Self-esteem theory and exercises are presented in this book, combined with practical ideas and suggestions to help you reach your goal of healthy self-esteem. This ,however, requires daily action to build up your self-image and self-assurance.

    Chapter 1-Self-Esteem and confidence

Self-esteem and confidence are often used interchangeably to define an individual's level of assurance, poise, self-respect, and security. While these two concepts are often related, they are not the same.

The concept of self-esteem is one of the most puzzling concepts in the world. There's nothing like happiness to get through any difficult situation in life. It's the sum of your ideas and feelings about yourself, including your strengths and faults. It is who you think you are and your positive self-concept!

If you want people to respect you, you must have a strong sense of self-worth and believe you deserve their respect.

To place a high value on your views and opinions, it's necessary to have high self-esteem.

Self-esteem is not about how much stuff you’ve got i.e. money you have in the bank, but how well you manage what you already have. It is not necessary to feel superior to others to be confident.

Also, don't let anyone else undermine you. Instead, let yourself know you are capable, and then just take action.

    Confidence vs. Self-Esteem

Most people do not believe in themselves or have enough confidence, but their confidence can be changed over time. Self-esteem is a constant, and confidence is a fluctuating attribute. Both must be cultivated. To accomplish this, you must first understand the origins.

Confidence plays a vital role in your overall well-being. Belief in yourself can be helpful in all aspects of your life, career, relationships, and self-image. As long as you are confident, people will take you more seriously. You'll likely receive a raise or promotion. You will be more likely to take on challenging but achievable projects.

You may have a decent amount of self-esteem but lack self-confidence in Parkour, cooking, or something else you know you are ill-equipped for. If you delude yourself and act confident when you are not even competent? You could get into serious injuries or trouble!

It is essential to be self-assured and comfortable in all circumstances, at the same time, know your limitations and capabilities. The more self-assured you are, the happier you will be, and the more enjoyable life
