About this ebook

The Evangelical Hypocrisy
Since the 1970’s Evangelicals have tried to bully seekers with their perverted decree: You must go to church. This decree happens to be the “Golden Rule of Satan!” Every evil deceiver, who wants to appear righteous, just as Satan does, first needs to become a churchgoer. On the contrary, God desires that people seek Him, not a church.

Self-righteous Evangelicals also believe they have the right and duty to enforce “their version of God’s laws,” especially God’s law against abortion. God does not need or desire anyone to enforce His Laws. Attempting to enforce God’s Laws is a depravity He promises to punish with fire (Revelation 21:8). It is not a virtue, as Evangelicals falsely believe. No godliness whatsoever is needed to enforce God’s Laws, only the passion to become a bully.

The Pharisees and the Spanish Inquisition both enforced “their version of God’s Laws.” The Pharisees lobbied the Roman government to help them enforce God’s Laws so they could crucify Jesus. The Spanish Inquisition enforced God’s Laws by torturing thousands. Evangelicals have become the hideous children of these reprobates because they have no understanding of the directive: Feed Jesus’ Sheep!

On top of everything else, Evangelical proselytes have been programmed to persecute Christians who are not churchgoers. Rick Warren, in his book, The Purpose Driven Life gives great examples. He details his persecution of those who are seekers instead of being dwellers in a fortress of unreasonable ideas.

My book reveals that the plain teaching of the Bible will discredit the Evangelical bullies. We need to read the Bible not only because it is the only path to socially discrediting Evangelical bullies but also to walk God's path of spiritual joy.

The Evangelical Bullies: America's Most Treacherous Evil
Author

Eric Demaree

I was born into a Methodist family. I joined them every Sunday in going to a small country church in Illinois until I left for college at age 18. That was in 1968. In college I enjoyed studying the Bible with other college-age Christians. Studying the Bible changed my understanding of Christianity. Unlike everyone I knew in my church, I wanted to find God and His Love. When I did find God and His joy in 1971, no one in my "dead church" wanted me to be different. There was no love there, so I left. However, I was so excited about my independent life in Christ, I traveled regularly to meet other Christians. I fellowshipped with every Christian group that I came across, especially in Illinois, Florida, Texas and Arizona. The early 70's was a blessed time in America.

    ENDNOTES

    FOREWORD

In this work, Eric shows us his masterful ability to articulate the difficult study of religion in the simplest terms possible. This enables his book to be accessible to everyone. His analysis of the Bible is so solid and complete that he makes his book an enjoyable reference, even for scholars.

Although I have known Eric for more than twelve years, I was still surprised that he advanced a possibility for building a moral consensus in our society. He centers it on these two facts: (1) The Biblical God says He will punish every self-righteous person who decides he or she has the right to enforce their version of God’s Laws! And (2) the plain teaching of the Bible will discredit the Evangelical bullies. Of the many important and well-written exposés of Evangelicals, including Du Mez’s Jesus and John Wayne, Viola’s Pagan Christianity?, and Barna’s The Unchurched, none include the Biblical path to discrediting these hypocrites. Eric’s book is just Biblically deeper and as well as well-thought-out.

Further, Eric argues that the ultimate Biblical narrative is: Follow Your Conscience. This directive is certainly one of the most esteemed and universal directives in existence. And, after thinking about it and realizing that our Biblical conscience is identical with the voice of Jesus, I whole-heartedly agreed with him.

It was refreshing to discover that Eric’s book does a thorough exposé of religious bullies. On top of that, he exposes religious rules that have nothing to do with mercy. He reveals that memorized prayers, irrational rituals and absurd religious garments have been invented for the purpose of enabling evil people to appear righteous.

How will the immoral Evangelical bullies become discredited if intelligent people do nothing? I believe we need to popularize the idea that anyone who takes it upon himself or herself to enforce on others their version of God’s Laws is helping to destroy the moral fabric of America.

I have always enjoyed Eric’s intriguing insights. Some he reveals here are: Biblical salvation; the reasonableness of the Biblical God; the pathfinder for what we ought to do—spiritual joy; the Greatest Commission—feeding Jesus’ sheep; and the foundation for reason. Eric’s declaration that we need to do more thinking is appropriate for all of us. Thinking things over is an absolute necessity if America is to make any moral advances.

Even though this book starts with exposing hypocrisy, it is all about joy. Eric has devoted most of his diverse essays to helping his readers find more joy. The joy of the Lord remains Eric’s theme throughout his entire book.

What do you think about the possibility of everyone being on the same page and understanding that the God who is wants all of us to follow the laws He wrote into our minds and thereby experience spiritual joy? It would be a wonderful world if everyone understood that.

I believe this book is reason’s latest and most perceptive assault on the killjoy religious absurdities that are taking America down the wrong road. I am sure Evangelical bullies will want to destroy this innovative book. Nevertheless, it will thrill everyone who is a seeker or wants answers about religion.

    INTRODUCTION

For as concerning this sect (Christianity), we know that everywhere it is spoken against. –Acts 28:22

The purpose of this book is to convince people to read the Bible for themselves. We need to read the Bible for our own well-being and for the sake of building a moral consensus within our society. Without people reading the Bible, however, we will never be able to build a moral consensus and discredit the Evangelical bullies. Therefore, I have included hundreds of Bible verses, some written out and some not, to inspire you to read more Bible verses for yourself and to meditate on these verses.

If enough people read the Bible for themselves, we will be able to take Christianity back from the check your brain at the church door reprobates. The Evangelical good ol’ boy network is NOT the body of Christ! It is merely a collection of arrogant, self-righteous bullies who are on the outside of Christianity looking in. Again, they are reprobate; they cannot even imagine that spiritual joy is the pathfinder for what we ought to do. Spiritual joy is something they have never and, sad to say, will never experience. YIKES!

We would never suspect it by observing Evangelicals, nonetheless, everything about Biblical Christianity is reasonable! From salvation to faith, everything Biblical falls under the umbrella of God’s administration of reason, as I will explain later.

Come now, let us reason together. -Isaiah 1:18a

And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. -II Thessalonians 3:2

I hope and pray that you will do some serious thinking while you are reading this book. If we cannot address our cultural deformations there will be no healing of our nation. I am testing the waters with this book to see if America is finally ready to face its cultural deformations. America, however, may still not be ready because the plain teaching of the Bible is too difficult for everyone, myself included! YIKES! The Biblical God, fortunately, forgives anyone and everyone who humbly asks for mercy. Praise Him for that! (Luke 18:10-14)

Blessed is the man whose…delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night. -Psalm 1:1, 2

These (the Bereans) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. -Acts 17: 11

The Bereans were worthy of honor because they did not believe, at first, what the Apostle Paul told them. Only after they searched the scriptures did they believe Paul.

Most people, however, do not read the Bible at all. The Evangelical bullies, by their actions, have convinced many of them that the Bible is corrupt, or not worth reading, or takes the side of these bullies. On the contrary, the plain teaching of the Bible reveals that these Evangelicals are the most treacherous of any religious group in America; they think they are righteous when, in reality, they cause pain. They are enforcers who try to politically force their version of God’s Laws onto everyone else.

Evangelicals are America’s most treacherous evil because they think they are Christians and society accepts them as Christians when they have nothing to do with the Biblical Christ. Instead, they are altruists, obeying joyless rules, who are ignorantly devoted to the Biblical Satan!

A few years after I repented and turned to God, in about 1976, I met some Evangelicals who really hated me! I was intensely shocked. I had merely been reading the Bible constantly while hitchhiking around a few Southern states.

These Evangelicals, however, were angry that I was not going to church—feeding a religious beast, if you will. It was not long before I met dozens of these Evangelicals. I came to realize that all these Evangelical dwellers hated all the genuine children of God who were seekers.

I know it is indeed difficult for most people to understand this sinister situation. Fortunately, Rick Warren, the self-proclaimed most influential Christian preacher, documents, in his books, his malicious bullying, his disgust for genuine Christians and his inciting of all Evangelicals into hatred for every genuine seeker of God! Evangelicals are so evil that Warren is not the least bit hesitant to boast about what a wicked bully he is.

Evangelical bullies are just as toxic to our society as the Pharisees, the Spanish Inquisition, and the Medieval witch-hunters were to theirs. All these self-righteous groups wrongly believed, as the Evangelicals do now, that they had the right to enforce politically their version of God’s Laws on others.

The Biblical God does not need, nor does He desire for anyone to enforce His Laws, politically or in person. Attempting to enforce any version of God’s Laws is a depravity God punishes eternally!

And this is the condemnation, that light (mercy) has come into the world, and men loved darkness because their deeds were evil (bullying). -John 3:19

I have been inspired by my mother who, bless her wicked heart, died an Evangelical bully. On top of that, most of my family members are still Evangelical bullies. YIKES! Of course, I do not have any ill will toward them. I am praying for them all to repent before it is too late. More than that, I wish all Evangelicals were born again, even more than they do! That would give me more people to fellowship with. But unfortunately for everyone, they are not.

I realize many Evangelicals would rather be called just Christians. Yet, most of them still believe in social and political bullying. For some the word Evangelical is too vague and has lost all meaning. Evangelical is, however, the most descriptive term for the current Christian voting bloc focused on using political power to force their version of God’s Laws on others.

I have a question for my Evangelical readers. If you are not a religious bully, why in the world would you label yourself an Evangelical? Thus, the title of this book refers only to Evangelicals who are bullies. Even so, I am including other religious bullies here because most of them have shown themselves to be using the Evangelical bully playbook.

Further, the Bible mentions the human conscience, which coincides with the voice of Jesus (John 10:27), more than twenty times. This supports the idea that our conscience is the ultimate Biblical narrative. Accordingly, the foundation of the only moral consensus our society could possibly accept is the Biblical directive: Follow Your Conscience.

Building this moral consensus requires understanding and learning exactly what the plain teaching of the Bible is and exactly what the directives of our conscience are. Discovering the directives of the Biblical conscience is not always forthright because the conscience is fragile and can be eroded or even destroyed. The directives of our Biblical conscience, however, can be easily discovered when we understand the process of reason: the adding of facts to our mind’s picture.

This book has the Biblical answers that have the ability to advance our society. Other books are great in documenting society’s evils, but do not offer effective solutions. Black Lives Matter, for example, does not go much further than saying, Please be nice because America would be a better place if you are nice. The effective Biblical solution to racism is: The Biblical God promises to burn all racists in a Lake of Fire! If this statement were promoted so that it is in everyone’s subconscious mind, racism would no longer be a problem.

However, very few people get it because no one really understands taking Christianity back from the devil! People either hate America’s version of Christianity, love its hypocrisy or ignore it. No one really understands what a beautiful world reforming it would produce.

I need to add that because I wrote some of the included essays at different times, a number of verses herein are duplicated. Instead of deleting the duplicated verses, I left them in to be unmistakable in the clarity and documentation of each essay. I love Bible verses and I love putting them in my writings. It is only the Words of the Bible that are able to build a moral consensus, not my words.

The Appendix includes two notable additions to this exposé. The first is: The Argument from Human Behavior. This is the one and only argument that enables any reasonable person to achieve the certainty unto death that God exists! Certainly, more than a few martyrs for God have been delusional or irrational. Nevertheless, many martyrs have followed, sometimes subconsciously, a definite rational certainty into martyrdom for God.

Moreover, suppose someone were impudent enough to protest to God on His Judgment Day, You should not punish me because it was impossible for me to achieve the certainty You even existed. If God were to give a reply, it would be this argument!

The second is the essay: Overcoming Grief. This essay is one of the most effective essays, ever, on overcoming bereavement.

While writing this book many at the God-in-me Ministries of Las Vegas, NV were supportive and helpful. I would like to thank them. Most of all, however, I thank God for giving me tremendous joy while writing this book, which is the greatest reward. Praise and thanks
