About this ebook
A Man's Plight 1 is the start of the series with a young actor named Dwight who is an actor and he talks about how the media portrays men. His story delves into him becoming an actor, Hollywood and what's on television these days and how much there needs to be major changes into men's roles on television shows. The goal behind Dwight's story is to make you think about what's going on in the media today from men's fashion to how roles are portrayed on television.
Dwight talks about so much subject matter regarding men such as the emasculation of men, body image, how there were family structured television shows from the 1960s through the 1990s, and many other things. The question now becomes how do we change how men are portrayed in the media and in society? Dwight has answers with writing better content but how do we as men change the narrative? Those are the things that we need to figure out to change the future of society.

A Man's Plight 1 - Jamell Crouthers
Introduction
Thank you for taking the time to read this book and the first of six books in this series. The goal here is not trying to be right in what’s being said. The goal is to make you think more than anything. To change the landscape of how men are perceived in today’s society from the media to what we see daily.
We forget the images we see daily affect our minds and souls. The portrayal and image of men are not good at all and this story will go down the road of what was, what is currently going on now and the hope for the future.
While this will not be an easy story to read, take the time to think about what’s being said and why. Understand that these books are to open people’s eyes to our current reality, what men are facing daily and how to improve all that’s around us.
Enjoy the journey!

Becoming An Actor
From when I was a child, I always wanted to be an actor,
I knew it was in me and my parents put me in acting classes.
My name is Dwight and this is my story of being an actor and writer,
But also to share how we as men are portrayed in today’s world.
The one thing about acting is I loved the art of performing and entertaining people,
The intrigue was there and learning the craft of it was exciting for me.
I remember going to acting classes and experiencing the ambience of it,
The room, the lights shining through as if I was meant to be there.
Being eight years old and knowing what I wanted to do with my life,
I fell in love with the process from early on and knew it would be a lot of work.
As I got older and started going on auditions and gigs, I knew how hard it was,
The competition was stiff and I was given the honest truth on how I did each audition.
When adulthood came around, I started to see how Hollyweird really was,
Agendas, propaganda and people doing anything for fame.
I’d start seeing it for what it really was and I wanted to change it,
From the writing to the scripts, producing, directing, everything.
A lot of the agendas they push aren’t good and aren’t right,
I’ll be sure to delve into these things throughout this story.
There’s a lack of great, positive content for men to see in the media,
It comes in spurts and that’s just not good enough for me.
I’ve been working on plenty of scripts on my own,
With the intention of producing and directing them one day.
Giving young kids, adolescents and grown men good movies to see,
Along with good TV shows that show us as family men in all different facets.
What I’m about to share with you will make you think a little,
These are things so many men see daily but don’t share it.
Our image and thoughts about how we’re seen are taken lightly,
Hollyweird seems to control everything and it affects young kids, adolescents and men.
The content that I’ll share is not only coming from me,
It’s coming from a place of concern, frustration and
