And he’s done it all without complaint. In fact, he’s done it with enthusiasm! No one can ever say that Travis Gallant wasn’t in love with his job.

    And still, the moment that the factory began to shift over to an automated way of working, he was among the first to be let go. Two years shy of getting a pension, and with no experience anywhere beyond the factory.

    One would think that, with such a stellar record, it would be easy for Travis to get work elsewhere. But he ends up running into two very large problems.

    The first problem is that this is the dawn of automation and companies all across the state are switching over to the new, robot fueled manner of work. That means there are people being let go in waves; it’s enough to catch the attention, not just of the local media, but of the global media. Travis’s small little town is suddenly all over the news, and on every TV station.
