I am drafting a grand fiction

in which you, dear reader, are unusually engaged;
which stirs your nethers in a manner newly familiar;
which smoothes the worried sigil between your brows;
which prompts you to rush home and apologize profusely;
which inspires you, on second thought, never to return.

We will live by the shore, you and I, in a
house with a dumbwaiter, exploring the rooms
languidly during the humid reign of summer.

We will adopt a personal uniform.
We will grow our hair long and unruly.
We will eat the same meal every night.
We will decline all invitations.
