    The Fickle Muse

    Ihave a muse who helps me write,

    Though she is rather fickle.

    It seems that when I need her most,

    She leaves me in a pickle.

    BUT IF I’M DRIVING in my car,

    And both my hands are busy,

    Why, then she gushes forth in spates,

    And leaves me rather dizzy.

    WITH PEN AND PAPER in my grasp,

    I can’t seem to recall,

    What came to mind so easily,

    With none in hand at all.

    February Blahs

    The snow is falling fast and thick.

    I scream up at the sky.

    It’s white, just like the trees and ground.

    This weather makes me cry.

    OH, FEBRUARY, WINTER’S core,

    Why must you be so long?

    So faint my dreams of balmy days,

    My memory of life’s song.

    I KNOW SPRING’S ONLY weeks away,

    But those weeks seem like
