Teddy Bard's Tales
()
About this ebook
Teddy Bard is very much like us. He has faced loss and grief, victory and defeat. He has struggled and fallen many times, - only to drag himself back onto his feet and carry on. Somehow, by surviving for over sixty years, Teddy has accumulated a fund of wit and wisdom which he wishes to share with the world. There will be laughter and tears, - smiles and chills, and possibly, a new way of seeing the world which may free us from past suffering. I guarantee that you will find this collection of stories in verse to be both entertaining and insightful.
Patrick W Kavanagh
Patrick W Kavanagh began writing after a series of strange experiences which totally changed his perception of the world around him. He began writing inspirational poetry and posting it freely on the internet. Patrick believes that much of what he writes is given to him by various spiritual entities, including the faeries. Both he and his wife Tina travel around Lincolnshire, England, giving demonstrations of shamanic healing and healing with drums. Patrick has been a Tarot reader for over forty years and Tina is an established spiritual medium.

Teddy Bard's Tales - Patrick W Kavanagh
Introduction
Words have power.
It took many years for me to understand that we heal by listening to stories, and realising that we are not alone. We all carry a child within who needs comfort and advice for us to develop as individuals and to become spontaneous and complete in ourselves.
Most of us are ‘stuck’, in one way or another. Whether it is an unsatisfactory relationship or a job which does little to uphold our self-esteem, and we seem unable to make the changes which we need to find contentment or ‘completion’.
Many of us have trouble in accepting that we are good enough. There are thousands of self-help books, dozens of schools of psychological theory, and hundreds of religions who offer to free us by imposing their own rules on top of the many half-realised imperatives which control our lives.
What we really need to do is to begin a dialogue with our subconscious minds. This collection of inspirational and humorous verse is written with the intention of sparking reflection and of appealing to our inner child.

The Teddy-Bard
Iwish I was a teddy -bard, then I could work for free.
I would not need to sell my books to pay for bread and tea.
I used to love my marmalade, -just like that other bear who really has it made.
But my poor pencil stub is getting very short and all my clothes are frayed.
I HEARD ABOUT THIS Universal credit and I thought things would be fine.
But they would not let me in the door, - I have to beg online!
But the library is twenty miles away and I don’t have the fare.
And my poor soles are getting thin, they may not make it there!
I WENT DOWN TO THE local church, but now it’s Tesco-plus!
So, I took out my tin whistle and I tried to go and busk.
But the policeman came and took my name, - then took my flute away.
And now, I owe a hundred pounds and have no way to pay!
I WISH I WAS A TEDDY-bard and did not need to eat,
‘Cos no one leaves a teddy-bard just lying on the street.
If I could be a teddy-bard, my life would be just fine.
I would not be at this foodbank and waiting here in line...

She Believed.
SHE BELIEVED THAT HE would always be her ‘rock’, and never let her down.
He believed that she would always be his angel. and never give a frown.
But human life is what it is, and nerves get frayed when raising kids.
And though he always worked, she was not happy with the other things he did.
THEN THE WORLD BECAME insane. He left to fight a war.
When he came back, he never was the same as he had been before.
He drank too much, but still, the bombs exploded in his head.
She sat at home and fretted over unpaid bills and wished that she were dead.
WHO SHOULD WE BLAME when life does not run safe and smooth?
Who should we blame when people all around are pitiless and cruel?
The child within just wants to hide away and never need to face another hurtful day.
And yet, a voice within assures us that there is another way.
I SEE YOUR WOUNDS. I see them
