HAVING just flown into London the previous day, Natasha Khan – these days a resident of Highland Park, Los Angeles – is savouring a proper cup of tea. “I do take PG Tips over with me,” she confides, “but the water’s different, so it still doesn’t taste quite right.” In her first 36 hours back in England, Khan has also enjoyed the novel sight of green fields and pub gardens, “but I’ve also noticed the anger, which is quite disconcerting”.
She says that one of the reasons she moved to LA was to free herself from the oppressive British news cycle. “Over there, there isn’t that tension in the air, even if it does feel like people are in a bubble.
