The author has defined the substance of faith as the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists of, and having a tangible solid presence. Faith, Man's Grip On God - Aikins Doh

    Introduction

Faith is a way of life, and for some, it is a captivating subject. It is very difficult to live the Christian life without faith as we depend on it for everything. Faith has always been defined as a substance and this substance is what I want to know more about. I run for faith in God, it is what I live for because I know it is the only way in which I can please God. In my quest to discover more about the substance spoken of in Hebrews 11:1, I’ve spent a lot of time meditating on the word substance. Many have gone before us and have taught so much concerning faith being a substance, they have left us a legacy of faith to run with, yet with all of this wonderful teaching I am still hungry to know more.

God revealed some things and took me into a deeper journey, to the supernatural where words dominate our very existence. God opened my understanding and challenged my own faith to go further than I have ever gone before. Can a man grow up poor, living in a village, struggling for food and having at times no shoes to wear, fending for money to provide an education that will one day see him living beyond the borders he has always known? Can this substance change my poverty stricken existence, and create an atmosphere of faith, to leap into the unknown where my dreams and visions become a reality in such a way, that others achieve their best for God? The truth is ‘YES’ it can change everything.

I spent my life living in Ghana, building the ministry which at the time was a small church having been birthed in Ho, and located in the Volta Region. We quickly grew to a small gathering and my hunger grew for more of God. I wasn’t satisfied for the everyday norm in life and I knew God had so much more for me to walk in. I began to surround myself with faith people, and I quickly learned to speak into my own situation. This largely came as a result of attending In Christ International Bible School where I found myself being saturated with faith. I derived many of my teachings through listening to Mark Hankins who grounded me in the faith message.

Today I write this book from Australia where we’ve started to establish the ministry. We started with nothing, and through the substance of our faith we can be thankful that we are here today, growing and establishing His kingdom in the earth until He returns.

The heart of this ministry is to raise sons and daughters, to reach this generation with the substance the Bible speaks about, knowing that the just shall live by faith.

    Chapter 1

    Faith, A Substance

In Hebrews 11:1, the Bible defined faith as the substance of things hoped for, it is a statement every believer talks about. But it is mindboggling to know more about what that substance actually is, let us depend on the Holy Ghost to help us explore what that substance is. The body of Christ cannot continue walking in faith and power and do more than our patriarchs without knowing what faith actually is. The church has come a long way and still she has much to learn about faith. We have had many amazing examples of great men and women who have gone before us demonstrating a simple faith, producing many miracles, and teaching us much about the operations of faith. Posterity will judge us if we do not walk in their footsteps and continue with their legacy.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. This is the definition of a substance, the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists of, that has a tangible, solid presence. So a substance is something we can see, hear or feel. I will put faith this way, something that is tangible and hoped for. How is it tangible and yet we hope for it? It means, even though it is tangible, and we cannot see it, it is within our reach through the substance of what we speak. Therefore, the word on the lips of a man is the actual substance of the tangible word the Bible is speaking about.

For instance, if someone says I am healed that is a substance of the spoken word we speak. Speaking is the substance and is the only evidence of the things we hope for, as we believe it materializes therefore initiating our healing.

The Amplified version of Hebrews 11:1; "NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Praise God, what an awesome revelation; let’s take further notice of the word assurance.

Assurance: is a positive declaration intended to give us confidence; and a promise. For example, He gave an assurance that work would begin on Monday.

Synonyms: word of honour, word, guarantee, promise, pledge, vow, avowal, oath, bond, affirmation, undertaking, commitment; archaictroth, parole.

You have my assurance that I shall write to you.

It is clear from this definition that assurance is a spoken word, while King James calls it a substance. That means when you speak about your health, or about your situation in life the only assurance of what you believe is your spoken word. If one says I am sick, the assurance of his belief is his spoken word, I am sick.

Young Living Translation says it this way, And faith is of things hoped for, a confidence, of matters not seen, a conviction. The phrase of matters not seen, a conviction stood out to me and I made a search on the word matters.

Matters: (redirected from matter) mat·ter (măt′ər)

Something that occupies space, has mass, and can exist ordinarily as a solid, liquid, or gas.

It goes on to say, The substance composing bodies perceptible to the senses; includes any entity possessing mass when at rest.

A term that traditionally refers to the substance of which all bodies consist.

A substance of which all bodies consist, Glory to God. That substance being words are what everything consists of, or made up of. And God said, Let there be…… and there was. Read Genesis
