To my husband, Steve:
a good gift and a perfect, free, full gift from above . . .
(James 1:17)
Preface
It is hard to believe it has been over 50 years since I prayed a simple prayer, unlocking the door of my heart to invite Christ’s Lordship in.
This book, which recounts the early days of my walk with God, has circled the globe and turned out to be a blessing to so many people. We often have no idea how the victories we win through faith in God can help others, but they do!
It was time to update the original book, and in reading the story again, I realized it was best to present it as it was in the original transcript, with only minor edits.
Life has a way of complicating our understanding, but the simplicity of this story is for those who are just beginning their journey of faith in God and can be encouraged by these timeless truths.
I have been married for over 45 years now, have raised two sons, and have served the Lord in full-time ministry since 1981.
I will say that as I have grown up
into a deeper relationship with God, I am more convinced than ever that to see, say, and pray
God’s Word are basic truths that continue to feed my faith and starve my doubts, as God continues to ". . . perfect [those things that] concern me."
May the truths you read in the following pages convince you, too!

Foreword
Words cannot express how delighted I am to have the opportunity to write the introduction to Barbara Arbo’s book.
As I was thinking about what to say, a scripture came to me from Psalm 113:9, which speaks of God making a woman a joyful mother of spiritual children. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! God has sent a spiritual child
into my life named, Barb. She is like my very own daughter, and I love her with the kind of love only a spiritual mother has for a spiritual child that the Father has sent to her.
Barb came into my life when I was in New York ministering. I knew the moment I met her that she would be a special part of my life. It was instant love!
When she stopped to visit me in Fort Worth, Texas, on her way to Brazil (she thought that was where she was going) I was so glad she had come. One afternoon, we were on our way home from shopping, and I said, Barb, I know you will be a very vital and important part of my life and ministry someday.
Her tears began to flow, and she said, Billie, I want to stay and be a part of your ministry. I will do anything — clean your house, cook for Dane and Kevin, be your secretary. . . Of course, I agreed because the Holy Spirit impressed me that very day that
someday was now. She was a constant companion to me. She did all the things she said she would, plus more. She became my
spiritual daughter" just like Psalm 113:9 had promised.
She stayed with me for three years and I watched her become a mature woman of God, a wife (I performed the ceremony) and an ordained minister. She and her husband, Steve, were an active part of Vicki Jamison-Peterson Ministries before launching out into their own ministry. I watched her take the Word, put it forth in prayer, and I have seen the excellence of results. It is just like she says in her book — it produces!
I highly recommend this book. It will bless you as you read it by wonderfully uplifting your spirit. If you will use this as a guidebook in your prayer life, every circumstance, crisis, and problem will change as you begin to say what God’s Word says about the situations in your life. It will change your prayer life!
By the way, if you were to ask me what Barb is really like, I would say she is a love-walking woman, as in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Thank you, Barb, for your vital part in my life, and thank you, Father, for this spiritual child.
