John DuBose

Dr. John DuBose was born in Mobile, Alabama, on May 4, 1949. John has been active in the ministry since 1980, when he was licensed to the Gospel Ministry by Twenty-Second Street Baptist Church in Tucson, Arizona, while still serving in the United States Air Force. During his time in Tucson, John served as interim pastor of the Baptist Mission Church in Nogales, Arizona (a mission of Twenty-Second St. Baptist), staff evangelist of Twenty-Second St. Baptist Church, and pastor of Boulevard Baptist Church. After retiring from the air force, John entered Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He was there just one year and moved back home to Mobile, Alabama, believing that his ministry was over. However, God was not done yet! After receiving a message from God in March of 1995, John was ordained by Life Church of Mobile, Alabama, and sent to Honduras as a missionary in 1996 by International Gospel Outreach and Life Church of Mobile, Alabama. Since his arrival in Honduras in March of 1996, John has dedicated himself to ministering to the Honduran people, specifically pastors or leaders of churches across the country of Honduras and other Central American countries. John is married to Edith Ortiz DuBose of Honduras and has four children and two grandchildren.

    Notes

The author addresses a most important question that is asked by the majority of Believers at some point in their spiritual life. The answers given to this dilemma are certainly on target and will give those who read this book a perspective on just how to deal with them. It is obvious that the writer has personally experienced the reasons for many of these conflicts and he certainly offers encouragement those who are in similar situations in their Christian growth. I would highly recommend this book to those who are questioning their conflicts and believe it will give them a Biblical viewpoint that will provide comfort, assurance and encouragement.

After reading and meditating on the material from Dr. Du Bose on the issue of why Christians suffer a series of adversities and/or trials. I conclude that this book will be helpful for all those who embrace faith in Jesus Christ.

Also, since most Christians do not know that even though we are involved in a spiritual war in which our Lord gives us the victory, we still must fight it. To this end Dr. Du Bose gives us a sober, balanced and biblical perspective on this matter, so that the fire of testing is not a source of wonder for Christians. (Reference: 1 Pedro 4:12).

    DEDICATION

I would like to dedicate this book to my daughter Angela DuBose Hudson. She became my confidant and one of my best friends when she was just a teenager in high school in Burkburnett, Texas.

Since then she has seen me through countless attacks and, because of her dedication to me, she has suffered through many attacks of her own.

There were so many times when I was hurting, lost, and frustrated with the
