A New Life Is Expecting You

The year was 1978 in early June. Vivian and Lucia Olivarez had just accepted Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior. They had been prophesied too many times that their children would all serve the Lord and that all their children would testify and be ministers of the Word of God. This prophecy has been fulfilled.
Then in early 2009, they were prophesied again for the third time that they would have a son. This son would be the most rebellious of all their children, and he would be used greatly by God.
My name is Leandro Lenn Olivarez. I am the youngest of five children. I am also the copastor of Templo De Alabanza (Temple of Praise) ministry in Rockport, Texas. Under the direct leadership of Senior Pastor Vivian Olivarez, I have been preaching now for over five years. After growing up in the Lord and backsliding, I have seen the ministry of God change so much that it hurts. I can only imagine how God feels. I have spent the majority of my life running from God, and that very rebellion brought some very bad, evil spirits into my life. I was, at one point of my life, a drug user. I was also a heavy metal drummer and radio DJ, chasing after all the wrong things. My parents, who also happen to be my pastors, never stopped praying for me. This book is to show that your life has a greater purpose and it may have already begun. Submitting to God is the first step.
What you are about to read are real-life testimonies from me and my family. We have seen the mighty hand of God in our family and in the ministry that God has placed before us. You are also going to see Gods hand in-depth on how he worked in our lives and the difference between believing and true faith deep down. At a very young age, I was exposed to the real full power of God, and this very truth rattled my soul to the very core of my inner being. Another thing God showed me is that everyone believes in something, but believing in the unknown and the unseen is a step of faith. Jesus said that all you have to do is believe because if you can start there with your belief, nothing is impossible. I have encountered evil spirits. I have fought them through the name and the blood of Jesus. I have had encounters with demons; and a witch even sat at my dining room table, looked me in the eye, and threatened me to my face. God showed me that true repentance and the name and the blood of Jesus are the only way to break the curses and be set free.
Please pray to the Lord that he will open your spiritual eyes so that you may see what he wants you to see. There is nothing in this whole world that anyone can say to me to change my mind that God still heals people and sets people free from demonic forces. I am a witness to Gods full power. I have seen with my eyes demons back away at the name of Jesus. I asked the Lord that in the name of Jesus Christ, you will receive a blessing from God while you are reading this book.

About the Author Leandro “Lenn” Olivarez grew up in the ministry of the Lord since childhood. He has been at the forefront of the introduction of Christian rock since the early eighties. He comes from a family of musicians as well as ministers. At a very young age, he saw the healing hand of God. For this reason, he is so passionate about God’s healing touch. For this reason, he is reaching out to the sick, the lost, the addicted, the abandoned, and the hopeless as well as the misled. Chapter 1

The Beginning

I AM GOING to take you to the very beginning. I am going to step aside for this chapter and introduce you to my mother, Lucia Olivarez. She and my father came to the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior back in 1978. And this is her story on how it all began:

The year was around 1961 when, one day, I heard a knock at my front door. There was a man and a woman standing there in front of my screen door selling bibles. I said to myself, Sure. Why not? So I went ahead and bought myself a Bible. I looked at it and thought that it wouldn’t hurt to read the Holy Bible. I remember thinking that this Bible reading is right down my alley. I thought that I was a very spiritual person because I was a loyal Catholic; I would study the prayers and memorize everything that the priest was going to say before he would even say it. I was a very religious person. So I started to read this Holy Bible, and shortly after I started to read this, I started to have dreams. I couldn’t understand some of these dreams at the time. But as time would go by, God revealed my dreams to me. I learned to write all my dreams down on paper because I knew that if it was from God, he would reveal it to me. Now I am going to share with you the very first dream that God gave me.

I dreamt that I was walking to my house through a dark alley. I couldn’t see very clearly. Then all of a sudden, in my dream, I arrived to my house, and I went inside. The inside of my house was so dark I couldn’t see anything in front of me. I have three daughters; they were little girls at the time. I told my little girls, Hold on to me. I know that the light is up here somewhere! So in one hand, I have my little girls holding on to me, and with the other hand, I am feeling for the light switch all over the walls, even all the way up to the ceiling. I couldn’t find the switch to turn the light on. This was the moment that I woke up from the dream.

By now, a few years have gone by, and I would have this very same dream at least one time per month. Remember, I was a very religious woman but did not know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Until one day, my husband came home from work and told me, My boss has invited me to his house, so hurry up and get dressed. We are going to his house. My husband’s boss was a deacon in a Full Gospel church. We went because my husband thought that he was invited to go and have some beers and hang out with his boss and some of his work buddies. But what a huge surprise—we arrived to a Bible study at his boss’s house. There was no beer; there were bibles, coffee, and cookies. That night of Bible study wound down, and we were invited to church. We decided to go visit this church on a Sunday morning. That very day, I accepted Jesus into my life! I was ready! I just knew that I was completely ready to accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of my life. After I accepted Jesus, my husband and my five children accepted Jesus as well. My whole family had just accepted Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior. It was the best feeling ever.

One month later, we were all baptized in water. Soon after our baptism, I realized the dream that I had been having for years about me searching for the light switch in a dark house. That dream went away because God showed me that I was the dark house, and I was searching for the light. And that light is Jesus Christ. I have found the light.

I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness. (John 12:46, NIV)

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. (Col. 1:12–14, KJV)

Then I started to receive revelations and visions from God.

My First Vision

This is my very first vision given to me by God. I saw two men, and then I heard a voice that said to me that those two men have evil plans toward the pastor and the church members. Then I woke up. The following morning was a Saturday, and I remember telling my husband that I had a dream that I needed to share with him. Then after I told my husband the dream, I said to my husband, I have to go and talk to our pastor. I have to share this dream with him. He needs to know what the Lord is showing me.

We decided to go to the pastor’s house. As we arrived at the front door, I knew that God was with me. As we knocked on the door, only a few seconds went by, and the pastor opened the door and said, Wow! Brother Olivarez, come on in. He was so excited that we had come to see him. So as he invited us in, my husband and I felt very welcomed. I began to tell him why we came to visit. As we sat down in the living room of his home, I began to share my dream with him.

Pastor, I was sleeping when the Lord showed me in my dream that I saw two men. Then I clearly heard a voice saying that those two men have evil plans toward you, Pastor, and the congregation, the church members.

We sat quietly for just a few seconds when our pastor looked at me and said, Thank you, sister, for sharing your vision with me.

Then what he said next took both me and my husband by surprise. He said, Brother and Sister Olivarez, let me tell you that two brothers arrived two days ago. But these two men I know are from God. I know that God has sent these two men. I know that God sent them because I prayed to God, telling the Lord that I needed help. I believe that God answered my prayer and sent me the help. I know that God answered my prayer and sent me these two men to help me.

Then I didn’t really know how to respond to that, so I thought, Okay. Then all I could say was Praise the Lord. I really came to share the vision with him. So I felt that I did what I was supposed to do. So we left his house.

Then the following day, Sunday, we arrived to the church, ready for the Sunday morning service. As my family and I entered the church, to my surprise, the two men that I saw in my vision were sitting on the front pew! I had to look again, and when I saw those two men inside the church with our pastor, I knew that those were the same two men that I saw in my vision. Those were the men! I told my husband as fast as I could. I could feel
