      My mind is in a state of disarray, swirling images of a book launch party running around in my head. The champagne was flowing freely, and everybody was congratulating me on another bestseller that was sure to make the New York bestseller list. I'd been on that list so many times that I can't even count, still each time it is a thrill beyond words.

      My publicist has a lot to do with my success, as he has been with me from the very beginning of my sojourn into becoming an author. I think that if it wasn't for him that I probably wouldn't have ventured into this territory. I was very happy to stay a professor of literature, but he had shown me that I could be bigger than what I was.
