    Day 1

    Write this for a memorial. (Exodus 17: 14)


    One of my most moving experiences was visiting the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC. As I read the names of those who had given their lives for freedom, I began to weep.


    According to The American Heritage Dictionary, the word memorial means something . . . designed or established to serve as a remembrance.


    For us writers for the King, there is nothing more important to establish as a remembrance than what God has done in our lives. Such written memorials not only inspire and encourage those of our own generation, but they also will touch the lives of those yet unborn and those who live after we have gone home to Heaven.


    What written memorials do you want to build for future generations? One of the most precious written memorials is the autobiography. In it, you can leave to your descendants a personal account of how God has worked in your life.


    No matter what kind of written memorial you build, as a writer called of God, you are responsible to build one. As you obey His call, He will provide you with everything you need to build a memorial that will have everlasting influence.

    Day 2

    I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians 4: 13)


    A chief weapon of the enemy is doubt. If we allow it, Satan will cause us to doubt our calling, our ability, and our God. Satan’s goal is to destroy our ministry as writers because our ministry has tremendous implications for the salvation of the world.


    The Word of God tells us that we can do all things through Christ Who gives us strength. The Word does not say some things. It says all things. Since God has called us to write, then we can write.


    Now, this does not imply that we do not have to study the craft of writing. The Word also commands us to study to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2: 15). We must be balanced in our interpretation of the Word. If we want God’s approval of our writing, then we must study the craft of
