S.T.I.R. Spiritual Trauma Intensive Recovery - Arnita L. Fields
What is S.T.I.R.?
STIR: Spiritual Trauma Intensive Recovery
This is a new ministry program created to offer emotional and spiritual support for leaders desiring personal revival. The concept for S.T.I.R. was birthed through a synergy filled conversation with my Apostle, Dr. Stacy L. Spencer. We discussed ways in which we could provide ministry leaders who had experienced burnout, a set of tools to help them emotionally recover and be restored after experiencing ministry trauma.
Purpose: The six-week, facilitator-led, intensive course will guide wounded ministry leaders from a place of frustration, complacency & burnout into a place of spiritual recovery, restoration, and renewed focus in Christ. Upon completion of the foundational six weeks, ministry leaders will then move into an additional time of after-care and personal maintenance as they continue to apply what they’ve learned. They will also increase their foundational Biblical disciplines for use in their daily walk with God.
Mission: Our mission is to "Move ministry leaders from fear to power, renewed faith, and a sound mind!"
Foundational Scripture: I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day, greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy, when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
The STIR process is unique. It serves as a vehicle for spiritually and emotionally wounded ministry leaders to be guided back into renewed focus in Christ. When a ministry leader has been intentionally or indirectly wounded by fellow ministers or laymen, it is important for them to take a step back and move into a safe healing environment. In that space, they can begin strategically unboxing the pain as they process through any unresolved traumatic ministry experience(s).
First, let us look at what trauma is, what it looks like and why people who experience it – especially in ministry settings – often
