As you probably know, the Sun enters Virgo around the third week of the month, on August 22, to be precise, and Mercury and Venus…well, I was going to say that they, along with Mars, “follow suit,” but all three of those planets enter Virgo before the Sun does: Venus on July 21, Mars on July 29, and Mercury on August 11. So the Sun, often a symbol of leadership and courage, is the follower this month, and we can perhaps take that as appropriate as we relate to the sixth sign.
Virgo, after all, has a long-standing connection to service, and the symbolically-related 6th house has much to do with tasks undertaken not for their own sake, but for some other purpose. This house has a connection to jobs of various kinds. First, we have the type of job that many people go to most every day, not necessarily because they love to go to work, but because they have to pay the rent and buy food. Let’s call such ongoing activities “rituals of personal maintenance” and recognize that each of us has a number of them, some having to do with health, others with income, and so forth.
