At the time of the earliest rise of Brother Sun, in a place far away yet near in our souls, the forest began to awaken in a calm sweetness. Under the oldest tree, there slept a baby boy wrapped in a soft, golden blanket. High above his tender head, a red falcon circled the sky again, and again. It was this strange swirl of red against the green treetops that caught Elder Dhamay’s attention. She was busy tending to her garden of orchids and roses when she decided to investigate. What could that old bird be up to? She wondered, as she made her way through the thick bushes.
As soon as Elder Dhamay spotted the child, the falcon landed on a low branch and waited, looking at her right in her eye as if to say, come closer.
No sooner had she scooped up the baby, did creatures from far and wide, high and low, begin to appear all around them. The forest shivered
