About the author

Pateletso Mokgotle was born in 1981 in the village of Setlagole, in the North West Province. The son of a farm worker and a home helper, Pat is the ninth of eleven children. He experienced loss from his early years, as both his father and mother died when he was still in primary school. Since then his life has been a challenge, one that Pat has taken up with courage and positivity. Raised in very harsh conditions, first by his parents and later by some of the older siblings, Pat learned quickly how to fend for himself and become independent. After moving to Johannesburg in his twenties, he built a successful career as a fitness trainer and life coach. His dream is to help others who struggle in life to do what he did: work with pain and shape it into Purpose.

Pateletso William Mokgotle was born on the 16th December 1981 in the village of Setlagole, in the North West Province of South Africa. The eight of nine children, Pateletso’s youth, spent during the last decade of the apartheid era, was riddled by painful losses and crippling poverty. At twelve, after the passing of both his parents, he was separated from the younger siblings and taken in by a relative’s family.In his early twenties a deep passion for music and the figurative arts and the dream of leaving the harsh conditions and the lack of opportunities typical of a remote south African township brought Pateletso to Johannesburg.Here, while working as car washer, gardener and security guard, the author obtained a diploma in sound engineering, attended several business courses and qualified as a personal trainer.In 2020 he perfected his studies as life coach. In 2021 he published his first book “Life purpose and Mastery Adventure”, keen on sharing his difficult journey and what motivated him through the hardships with those who struggle to pursue their purpose due to life circumstances.

    In this e-book, I share the lessons learned during my life journey, described in detail in Pati to existence; my courageous journey, my other book that will be published immediately after this. While fending for myself in an environment that from its very beginnings, was harsh and often hostile, I had no other choice than to numb the pain and keep going. In the long run though, this took me away from myself. I was living a robotic life, focused only on becoming what external forces required me to be.

    During the Covid-induced lockdown, I had the scary opportunity to sit in silence and, far from the noise of my habitual existence, look deep inside my soul. I searched for answers: I queried my personal losses, my previous material poverty, the huge obstacles and the ferocity of time. I queried the fears and I queried the happiness that I was never ready to enjoy. Most of all, I asked myself what gave me the strength to continue travelling, despite the pain. And I asked myself what I really wanted to live for.

    This experience allowed me to awaken to the truthfulness of myself and the Universe and to find the answers and the explanations I was looking for. With the support of a life coach, I discovered the immense power that human beings have to change their circumstances, if only they identify their purpose and commit to it.

    This e-book lays down the rules that, before unconsciously and now in full light, I have followed and still follow, to respond to the call of the Creator in me towards the complete realisation of myself and my dreams. I share them with you because the same power that I tapped into resides in YOU.
