      CHAPTER 1

      The King sent several on horseback to find Luna. They leaned against the very cocoon they sought that held Luna as the spider Grobhandle explained, I saw no elf here. Search somewhere else.

      The spider kept her there for eight months before a hunter named Timbrell and his friend killed the spider with a bow and arrow. It was by total chance!

      Grobhandle killed armies even.

      No way a couple random hunters could do it. But they did. They merely saw it, shot it with an arrow and it died.

      This is no ordinary spider, said Timbrell. It is Grobhandle. This Spider has been breaking all kinds of pacts. The spider goes where it does not belong, stealing farm animals and destroying crops.

      They ripped open one of its cocoons and gold coins all poured out. You're rich, Timbrel. Rich beyond your wildest dreams.

      All of it goes to the King, said Timbrel. For I'm paid well enough.

      Still they pocketed a few coins.

      How did you kill the notorious spider Grobhandle?

      Through my archer prowess of course. He did not let on that he had help. Immense help. An elf in one of the cocoons.

      She got in his mind when he was near, pointing her directly to the spider.
