Back In Da' Day - Brenda Hicks-Wiggins
INTRODUCTION
Back in Da’ Day is a book of prayers, some hilarious, but all are real. How did we survive in this world turned upside down? Coming from Back in Da’ Day, we survived off of the prayers of our family - mama’s, grandma’s, grandpa’s, uncle’s, aunt’s, Godparents, and so on. We made it through, some of us on a wing and a prayer.
These prayers are God given to me, straight from the heart of Our Father. One night, I found myself just talking to God about life and how to survive. That’s right. I am an older woman still trying to survive today. It gets tough for me sometimes or should I say, more than many, times it’s gotten tough. And I’d bet you could say the same thing for you too. But God! With God, I’ve taken a licking, but He keeps me ticking. He gave me the vision for this hilarious prayer book. It’s prayers that every day people can relate to. You will find out that in this world, like mama said, Just keep on living
that you’ll have to laugh sometimes to keep from crying.
These are prayers that will heal your soul and fill your spirit with laughter. Laughter is like medicine to the soul. Proverbs 17:22 NKJV tells us, "A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones." When I think about how my childhood was, I thank God. In my childhood, we could go outside, play, be kids and have fun. We had it all - life, laughter, and love.
The moral to these prayers (some hilarious) are to make you laugh in the midst of the trials and tribulations we face and go through on a daily basis. Whether they are big or small, old or young - we all go through. But God brings laughter into our lives to let us know, everything is going to be
