    Chapter 1

    The Court Sealed The Case

Out of the pain, there is a story to tell. My parents made the story feel like it was out of their own souls. They said there was a woman whose soul was like gold, but she lived a life of pain. She was born in the heart of Texas in a city called Sweetwater.

Her family did not have much but love. Her life came from the womb of a Mexican mother and a black dad. The young lady was sixteen just a baby herself when she set eyes on a seventeen-year-old.

They looked into each other’s eyes as though they knew it was forbidden love, but their desire could not hold them back from laying into each other arms.

    The baby was innocent.

One thing led to another and one chilly winter night she found out she was pregnant. Her mom did not want a nappy head baby in their family home and immediately wanted to stop the pregnancy. Days went on and several weeks then out of the blue she decided she was not going to get rid of the baby but give it up for adoption. She felt good about the decision but swore everyone to secrecy. She took it another step and ask that the court seal the identity of the parents during the adoption process.

Walking through her life was not transparent and she decided to let the chips fall where they may.
