About this ebook
I dedicate this book to the Lord, whom gave me the gift to write. Then to Felicia's children, Ivy, Corgan and Violet who were taken from us a few years ago. Grandma loves and misses you.

Introduction
Lessons from the Flowers has been trying to teach me a lesson on patience that is hard to learn. Other attempts to get this book typed have been fruitless and timely. Soon, I realized that even at three words a minute, I would need to type this book myself.
Thanks to a wonderful friend, Carol, with the loan of her typewriter, publishing this book may be more than a dream, but a real possibility. On these pages are an odd assortment of poems and stories. Some you may like. But like a magazine, maybe just a few parts of what is written will touch your heart.
At first, I thought this book was only going to be a small booklet, but the story that the title of this book was derived from could not be found. As I searched for it several times, I found other poems and stories to add. A few more were written in between my futile attempts.
I kept feeling nudges to start fresh without the original story to guide me. Time after time, I resisted. Then the Lord spoke to my timid heart: Trust Me. Just start.
So that is what I did. For two days, I had just the first sentence written down. Then the rest flowed. It turned out to be a heavier message than the other one.
The ‘weeds’ are from my unrefined writing ability. The ‘thorns’ are not meant to be an attack. But they may open some old wounds. Do not reseal them to fester. Allow the Lord to cleanse and heal you. He does care.

A woman hurt by life’s hard blows
Knocked down but came up fighting.
Outward appearance seemed rock hard.
The tears inside were biding.
Love teased then left you broken.
Could you ever trust again?
Well, here’s a love you can count on;
Not only your child, I am your friend.
Here’s a flower for you Mom
To add to your bright bouquet.
A song that says I love you
Even more than yesterday.
Your petals you give gladly,
But your flower is never bare.
Whenever strong winds shake you
You never cease your loving care.
Our love and faith were
