State of Grace - Aarshia Joshi
Sorry
baby, i apologise
for all the memories that
i have left in your head.
now i know
how it feels to remember
the crevices of one’s body
and not being able to
feel them under your fingertips.
I Always Keep You Waiting
i’m leaving us to fate.
she holds much more
rationality and security
than you could ever get
from my love.
if she chimes into the doors
of my wonderland
and pauses the process
of my dreams coming true,
i will gladly accept you back.
learn how to love and not
just write books about it.
but please,
let the process of my dreams
coming true at least begin.
let me make my own world.
so hold onto recalling
memories of us,
for i don’t want you
to stumble on clouds.
they will never be sturdy
and i really fucking don’t
want to see you fall
while i’m gone and finding
my happily ever after.
Quicksand
between the fights and screams and heartbreaks,
i fell in love with him,
alas, he was like quicksand,
keeping me in painfully within him.
now he’s gone, and i’m still sinking.
Influenced Love
you call me a heartbreaker,
say that you need a while
to get over my inhibitions,
tell me things like you own me,
throw me around like cards
on a table with bets placed.
your friends have more power
over your touches on me.
please call them up
and tell them nicely
i’m done for,
this isn’t a show for free.
Flowers & Tears
the flowers will protect you from the times when your tears are abandoned,
take a petal and wipe your tears off with it.
if you have lost something that’s precious enough for your tears,
get something precious enough to get rid of them, unlike mere paper.
You vs. The World
a boy like you should
be adorned in gold.
have them place a throne
in your humble bedroom.
you have crafted in my mind
an image of boys so different
than they actually are,
so different are their touches,
their conversations with me.
fuck you for being so sweet
i tried to forget us,
but when those unwanted
touches and strokes were felt
i couldn’t help but imagine
how you never indulged into
crashing the temple which
was now raided and done
