    Most people crave happiness in their lives. I have hoped for happiness more than once, and it has certainly escaped me more than once. Happiness usually comes more in the form of a short burst, like a firework or the snap of a picture. The reason happiness doesn’t tend to stick around is that our lives are filled with things like guilt, stress, shame, and anxiety. I can be laughing one moment and the next moment, my mind is mulling over something that happened years ago. Humans tend to hold onto all of their faults and bring them into the present.
