    The end of a relationship can be an overwhelming experience, a time of pain, confusion and disbelief. No matter how or why we get to these crossroads change can often be a very difficult time but no matter how hard it seems at the time you will move through this pain and you will feel good about life again. Be gentle with yourself, be patient and keep positive, take one day at a time. Simplify your life and don’t think ahead, just get through today.

    Life starts out simple but we complicate it by over thinking everything and if you stop and monitor these thoughts you’ll find that most of them aren’t that healthy. Stop thinking and start breathing, begin to monitor your daily thoughts, if your thought is positive think it, positive thoughts create a healthy mind, a healthy mind creates a healthy body. If the thought is negative, immediately stop thinking it and replace it with a positive thought, although at fi rst this may seem difficult, with a little perseverance you’ll find that this is a very simple process with huge benefi ts.

    If you’re thinking it’s too complicated and there’s no way out then that’s exactly where you’ll stay. You need to make a shift in your mind, you do this by mentally telling yourself it’s time to make a change and then you follow through with the change. You don’t do anyone any favours stuck in negative thinking, it’s easy to feel negative when you’re down and it’s important to acknowledge your feelings but don’t get lost there, give yourself enough time to grieve and then slowly begin to take small steps to improve your life, (I’ll give you some tips for this in Chapter 3—Getting Back on Track).
