Before talking about email marketing, we need to understand why it is better to focus on this tool and not using social media, for example.
The email or ‘electronic-mail’ was created with the intention of facilitating a conversation while maintaining an ‘intimate’ style. This is an imitation of when paper letters were exchanged through the mail or passed by hand. It gives a feeling of trust, security and confidence between the sender and the recipient.
It’s also a much more professional tool than a social platform, since its sole purpose is to put two people in conversation through an online ‘letter’ system. The email is a tool with a great potential that we can still exploit. However, it is very important to understand when and how to use it; The possibility that our email will be opened in the first hour of being received is very high, while as time passes the chances of someone opening and taking an interest in our proposal falls dramatically.
Therefore, creating email marketing means creating campaigns and marketing strategies using email, without spam, as a main tool. Through this tool, we can take advantage of various methods to send our customers a clear and direct message. The most common method is the newsletter, which we will discuss later. Email marketing is considered to be the best method to retain customers. It has a very high percentage of return on investment (ROI) compared to other techniques because it is an easy, fast and direct tool when used to promote an offer, proposal, novelty, price list, etc. Furthermore, it also allows us to visualize how many people are interested in our offer when we see who has opened the email. We can practically monitor our strategy in real time.
When described, it seems like a medium for everyone and it is!
However, there are several errors that many people make, which consequently has a negative impact on the ROI. One of these common errors is email spam. Just think: a person has voluntarily registered and is interested in our proposal, but after a few days they have 20 emails from us with all the various offers ... It is very intrusive, and we are going to suffocate what should be our success. It is better to send even a single email that better describes who we are, what we do and what we offer.
