Mindfulness for Success - Tara Ward

    INTRODUCTION

Welcome! You’ve just started a fun and imaginative seven-step guide for creating success. I have enjoyed using mindful practises for many years and now it’s my pleasure to share some techniques with you. This is a ‘doing’ book filled with exercises, but please rest assured that you are not going to be asked to meditate for hours or to sit cross-legged; you’re going to be more active and enjoy ‘playing’ with success. After all, the more pleasure we have in doing something, the more likely we are to be successful at it. We’re going to make mindfulness fun, not a chore.

This book is designed as a very personal journey for you. My role is to give you some tools and to encourage you every step of the way: to define what ‘success’ means to you at this time in your life, to guide you through the reality of how to obtain what you want, to set in place the plans that will work for you and then to help you stay on track so that you get there.

You will need to work through the steps in order, but how long you take for each step is up to you. If you want to be super-focussed and your goal is a short term one, you could achieve success in seven days or less! Or you may discover some stages need more time and application; that is fine too. This book won’t take you long to read but the time you take to complete each step is up to you.

Of course the clue is in the title: mindfulness. Rushing through the stages, without being truly mindful of what you want to achieve, may end up frustrating you. The other extreme is when you prevaricate for so long that nothing moves forward. We’re going to strike a happy balance.

So this seven-step guide has been devised to creatively, mindfully- and ENJOYABLY- find a route to personal success in your life. And we’re going to make the journey to get there as pleasant as your arrival.

    Helpful Hints

You will find hints sporadically through the book. These are fun suggestions that you may find useful. Enjoy playing with them if they appeal.

Also, at the end of each step is my personal experience of a plan for success that I followed recently. It might be amusing to read as I went slightly awry, convinced I knew best.

Just before we delve into the first step, I suggest you download the simple ‘Success Plan’ by clicking this link (http://delivr.com/293yd).

If you print this off and fill it in as you go along, it will help you to stay on track and feel motivated.

    Right. Let’s get started!

Step 1: S is for Starting

We often take an attitude of success will come to me one day when/if or I just need to trust and success will happen. It seems to me an unfulfilled way to be. Why wait? Why
