Introduction
If you suffer from fatigue, anxiety and digestive issues and have been for countless tests with no results or answers, then this is for you! Perhaps you react to a diverse range of foods with hives, itchy skin, eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis or you have developed a sudden food allergy to a food you have spent your whole life eating. Maybe your life has been taken over with crippling stomach cramps and nausea and you just don’t know what to do about it. You might know someone with IBS, coeliac disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease or fibromyalgia.
It doesn’t matter whether you’re young or old, this information is essential if you want to thrive. Young people are now being diagnosed in increasing numbers, with conditions becoming more complex and severe.
Hi, my name is Julie Marcus. Come with me on my journey to heal my body naturally.
I hope this information helps you to understand your body and how it functions so you can make healthy choices that lead you on a path to healing naturally. I wrote this book to help others to live a truly wonderful and healthy life. I spent years trying different diets, researching, and undergoing countless medical tests in search of solutions to my health issues.
My Journey So Far
About 11 years ago, I had two severe bouts of bronchitis about 2 years apart and both times I was prescribed heavy doses of antibiotics. 9 months after the second infection I noticed large patches of dry skin on my forehead. It was eczema. I took a natural omega 3,6 & 9 oil which healed my eczema and in a very short time.
I had also sustained an injury to my leg years prior. With the pain becoming so intense, I was having trouble coping. Sleep deprived, I took some NSAID’s (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain relievers), which gave me some relief but also gave me stomach cramps so I stopped taking them. Instead, I took paracetamol. This wasn’t always effective and only gave me minimal pain relief. I wasn’t keen on taking prescription drugs and it was the only solution I had at the time. As time passed, I learned to cope with my leg injury as best I could, always on the search for natural pain solutions.
A couple of years later, a rash appeared on the back of my neck, small but very itchy. I was working with a girl who said her sister had the exact same rash. I asked her what it was, what caused it. She told me it was an allergy to yeast. So I eliminated yeast from my diet, ate yeast-free breads and stopped eating processed foods containing yeast and the rash disappeared. I went from eating whatever I wanted to reading packets in the supermarket. With labelling on foods these days, it’s not always easy to know what is actually in the foods.
As time went on, I continued to get hives, lumps and very small patches of dermatitis. My skin would itch and it would come and go. There didn’t seem to be any significant cause. Eggs seemed to make me worse, I would wake with puffy eyes and rashes, feeling fatigued, and felt like I had a cold. I eliminated eggs from my diet. Symptoms reduced again.
Life Happened
With a break-up, two redundancies, a leg operation to remove a tumour in a nerve and constant anxiety, life seemed more down than up. Fast forward to June 2019, I went to my doctor for a routine blood test, I was still very fatigued and I felt as though I was still eating foods I was allergic to. The results came back with an elevated liver test with all readings extremely high. My liver and abdomen were scanned with no real explanation for the high readings. My blood was tested for coeliac disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, even autoimmune hepatitis. I had a fructose test, all came back negative. I wasn’t displaying the usual symptoms of lactose intolerance either.
During this time, the rash that had appeared years before had returned on the back of my neck but this time larger in size and running through my scalp like wildfire. I began to react more severely to foods with rashes, hives, eczema, fatigue, asthma and sleep disturbance. I couldn’t figure out what foods were causing the reactions. Inside, I felt something wasn’t right. I had eliminated more foods from my diet. I began to keep a food and symptom journal.
I went to an allergy specialist who tested the four main foods I thought I was allergic to with an IgE allergy blood test – all came back negative. I was lost. I had spent a lot of time researching, trialling diets, creams, oils, you name it. I was focused on solutions. I always ate healthy foods. I worked out, always slim and fit. How did I get here?
I was ready to give up. I continued to stay away from foods I knew were making me sick.
The Year 2020 - Out of Control Symptoms, a Car Accident and Crazy Times!
I began to get digestive problems every 2 to 3 weeks. I continued with my food journal, but deep down inside I was starting to think that there might be something seriously wrong with me.
In May 2020, I had a collision with a guy who decided to run a red light in a stolen car. I was severely bruised, sustained a couple of fractures in my spine and 2 bulging discs, one in my neck, the other in my thoracic. Then symptoms seemed to get out
