Personal Introduction of the
Author with Dedications
Hello, my name is Michael. I have been journaling since I was twenty-one years old. I started off by writing about my fears and the pains of my past. This was when I reached my spiritual bottom, faced a lack of reality, had an emotional death, and encountered a spiritual rebirth.
Before reaching the age of twenty-one, I had been faced with a past of cancer/Hodgkin’s Disease, alcoholism in myself and in the family, and mental health issues. I also had to deal with a past trauma of incest. During the first seven years of my life, I was unable to organize my speech and speak a sentence in an order that made sense. My life was realistically unrealistic.
I started journaling as I entered my personal road to recovery, my spiritual rebirth. Journaling started as a way to record what had happened to me and how I felt about it. Oftentimes I journaled about my reality, my fears, insecurities, and strengths. My spiritual rebirth combined years of practiced forgiveness to rebuild my self-identity, being able to put myself before others, and my spiritual essence with God and this universe. To me, forgiveness has become the ability to accept a spiritual axiom of surrendering myself to the past, regarding the people, places, and things that had baffled me. I have been led in life to accept a Good Orderly Direction—being one with GOD, living spiritually in the present with those living an eternal life. Practiced forgiveness included self-help practices, such as meditation, the spiritual practice of therapy, the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, a Catholic confession, and of course, journaling.
I originally wrote this when I was fifty-three years old, in October 26, 2016. I had been married for eight years and six months. It was a first marriage for my wife and myself. I had one living parent, my mom. I also have three brothers.
These spiritual tales are dedicated to my mother and my wife. It is with my mother that I am grateful for the essence of life, and it is with my wife that I have been joined into a sacrament of matrimony before
