Hide Me: Safety in the Secret Place of the Most High
()
About this ebook
The material things believers pray fervently about are already in His care but shall perish anyway at His appearing.
The shift in focus of the prayer content is therefore the wisest move given that, the count down to His coming is getting lower each day. And unless this shift occurs, hearts might disappointingly follow where treasures have been stored and the long wait for Him would be baseless.
Ceaseless and fervent prayer which avails much requires dedication, effort and time. Why would any believer invest time and effort praying for things that are temporary and bound to perish at the expense of the eternal?
“Hide Me”provides 35 customized and personalized prayers that will hide you in safety in Him. They have the spiritual content based on prayers of the selected old testament prophets, Jesus’ prayers, the Apostles prayers and selected Psalms. In addition, it teaches how to customize spiritual and prophetic content of the Bible into personal and congregational prayer.
Covet spiritual-content prayer and let God hide you in His most secret place of prayer as you use this prayer book. Keep it close by and pray from it until the content becomes second nature. Every believer is hidden in Christ and Christ in God and it takes the right prayer to sustain the communication.
“Hide Me” is the third in the series of “The TREASURE”. The first two are: “The TREASURE” and “A Tender Shepherd”.

Prologue And Introduction
Where did most of us miss it? From hindsight, I would have loved to have started off my prayer life without much groping when I got born again. Nonetheless, I have checked my prayer lists over the years and can confirm that they are largely material needs; mine and those that I pray for. You may want to do the same.
Much as I regret it in view of this nascent revelation of investing my time of prayer for spiritual gains, I am thankful to the Lord for the timing of this revelation. As usual, the need for a shift is for me first and then to you out there.
I made this observation during the writing of my 3rd book: Incense from Golden Bowls
. My search through the entire Bible for prayers was revealing and convicting. The New Testament for instance was heavily loaded with heavenly items that puzzled and intrigued me. It was as though the Apostles were expecting Jesus’ return every minute of the day.
The content of their letters and prayers were largely encouragement to live lives worthy of their calling in expectation of His return. That kept me wondering because it appeared to me instantly that I was missing something.
Suffice it to say that they used their letters and prayers as shepherding tools. Did they also not have personal needs? Obviously they had. So the question is: why did they not include them in their prayers? Not even once! Their personal needs were not their concern. Indeed they had learned in course of their discipleship that those needs would be His care and that seeking first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness was of uttermost importance.
Connecting the dots from Matthew 6 to the Treasure…
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
22 "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
24 "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.[a]
Do Not Be Anxious
25 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Still connecting the dots…
I have drawn similar conclusions from several prayer lists and bulletins of prayer groups and meetings where the material requests outnumber the spiritual. In addition, I observed that most of the prayer items are reactive and not proactive as Jesus taught it.
It is comforting however to observe that saints want to pray but maybe lack direction and the spiritual content. There is therefore hope to re-channel the passion towards more spiritual content for greater and better benefit.
Still connecting the dots to the Treasure…
The revelation of the Lord’s Prayer which is well documented in my book The Lord’s Prayer: The Forgotten Prayer
and its sequel, Incense from Golden Bowls
, gave me further insights to the missing links in our prayer requests.
Some of the missing links can be gleaned from the contents of Jesus’ prayer recorded in John 17, the prayer He taught the disciples; the Lord’s Prayer, and those of the early saints.
Comparatively, theirs are heavenly, more spiritual, proactive and prophetic. In this book, I am calling for that shift in content.
If our hearts will follow our treasure, then this shift is the wisest, urgent and immediate thing to do because heaven is our home and final destination.
Why should believers be obsessed with material things at the expense of the spiritual cognizance that these material things would eventually be stubble and burnt at His coming?
You may want to review your prayer lists over the years and conduct the analysis and make the necessary shift.
I am not in any way implying that we cannot pray for our needs. This paradigm shift is towards more spiritual items that must occupy the large part on the list because our eternal destiny hinges on them.
Additionally, believers are called to believe and live His promise that when they seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, all other things shall be added. It appears the cart is being progressively placed before the horse. May I urge us to move the cart to the back where it belongs.
Purpose And Format Of The Book
The purpose is to provide an informative and handy prayer book that supports spiritual- content prayer in the fashion of God’s communication with the patriarchs, Jesus Christ, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, and the earlier saints.
The book is in two parts. Part one presents the premise for the prayer book: selected prayers from the old testament, Jesus’ teaching on prayer, Jesus’ prayer life and analysis of his prayers, analysis of selected prayers from the new testament and analysis of prayer bulletins. Part two is the prayer book that is derived from part one.
I encourage you to open and use this prayer book first thing in the morning and pray from it. Carry it to church, group and family prayer meetings as well. Your desire to pray aright shall be fulfilled.

The LORD’s Covenant With Abram
1 After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision:
"Do not be afraid, Abram.
I am your shield,
your very great reward."
2 But Abram said, Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?
3 And Abram said, "You have given me no
