INTRODUCTION
A parable is a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.
Most of the time we correlate the word, parable
to our LORD JESUS. This is what JESUS used to explain the existence and essence of the Kingdom of GOD.
A parable has a lot of synonyms such as: allegory, moral story, moral tale, fable, lesson and exemplum. A parable is a type of analogy and it is one of the synonyms. Analogy is easier to comprehend because it compares a certain subject to another subject.
I love analogies. In my life, I always give analogies in my every sharing. My friends have known me as the one who is always with analogy examples in explaining things. One of my friends addressed me as an analogist.
For me a parable is like cooking a delicious food and the chef is trying to share how to cook by telling to some of the guests, the necessary ingredients and the process on how to cook it. He is a good chef, but not all of the guests like to learn how to cook. They just want to eat. This is what the listeners are doing. They are not attentive. They are selective, just want to know what they need to know and what they want to know.
I could imagine how stubborn the disciples were during the time of JESUS. But I am sure His disciples learned a lot from all of His parables. JESUS left us legends of moral lessons. Now it is up to us to show our being a good Christian. I chose to write parables of my own and I have about thirty parables excerpt from one of the books I have written, the "What’s In My Heart? vol.II. Then I thought of writing more parables. So I started writing more parables until I reached the 101st parable of my own. Since one of my goals is to encourage the readers or any one interested to write parables of their own, I affixed the 101 for a learning purpose.
Since parables use human characters, JESUS indeed tried to elaborate His teachings especially the parables, through His every effort to give importance to the Kingdom of GOD. Human beings can talk, can respond and can use their hearts, minds and souls in portraying the characters in the parables. Only JESUS can portray the Kingdom Of GOD through Parables. He is the sole proprietor of Parables in the Bible.
In The Parables Of My Own 101 For Us All
, I included animals and other living things to give color and to give life to my parables. My parables contained short stories that give moral, spiritual lessons and practical ways in handling life.
Literally, I indeed imitate JESUS. Isn’t it that we are not only to follow JESUS, but to imitate Him? I imitate JESUS in the sense of me pursuing in writing parables of my own. But I didn’t focus on the Kingdom of GOD. Only our LORD JESUS can do that and I am just a humble follower of Him. Like I said I based my parables on my daily endeavor and encounter and this is where my sharing is coming from. Truthfully, I am inspired by JESUS, that’s why these parables are dedicated to Him.
Again, the bottom line is JESUS used parables because these parables are earthly stories with heavenly meaning. The Parables Of My Own 101 For Us All
is about my own experiences, about the people I encounter everyday, it is about my own pets and other animals and the knowledge I have about them. But most of all these parables of my own are from my heart and soul.
PREFACE
(The Parables Of FABLES)
The parables in the Bible give me an inspiration to write parables of my own. For me, writing short stories help me use more of my creativity. Some of the parables are based on my actual conversation with people and others, from my watching television shows, and also from my keen observation of some animals’ and pets’ behaviors.
I can’t help but to name this Preface as The Parables of Fables
, because I utilized animals as the characters that is to assimilate fables, and because of its affinity. Children are my favorites too. They say that we learn from our experiences and our mistakes and yet I can say that we also learn from the kids, animals and pets, especially our own.
Where do you think we got our virtues? Did you say from
