Susan currently lives an hour north of Montreal with her husband and a furry companion; she is brimming with excitement in anticipation of her next adventure.

This book is
dedicated to my wonderful husband who had the audacity to say to me (while we were dating), that it was all bullshit when we were first talking about spiritual matters. I married him anyways and am very happy to report that he doesn’t call bullshit on that anymore.
This book is also dedicated to Jesse our warrior, my daughter Davina a goddess incarnate, and to my son Zac whom you will meet in the intro.
How to wake up the sleeping of this world? Sigh. Am I still sleeping too? Do others look at me and shake their collective heads wondering how it is possible that I can be so unconscious?
Probably.

At times I may consider myself to be an insignificant speck of dust in the cosmos - but the cosmos would not be complete, whole, or worthwhile without me.

63539.pngFOREWORD
I have read lots of books, literally thousands of books. For years, I would read whatever book was thrown in front of me. I came to appreciate two categories of books: the groundbreaking useful shocking types of books (usually health-related) and the books that were so unique they just didn’t fit into any type. This Is Such Bullshit hits BOTH categories! I opened the book and started reading and the journey began. It kept me on my toes; I had no idea where the book was going next! From the Origin of Redheads to Heliotherapy to the Head Angle of Enlightenment to The News being complete and utter Bullshit to the philosophy of Empedocles to our cells eavesdropping on our thoughts to the idea we are living in a simulation and it builds and goes on from there in diversified ways! Do you see what I mean? That’s a good book! Surprises at every turn, and, Susan Cohen, our beloved author, isn’t afraid to call bullshit!
. ..on just about every previous assumption. Want to think things differently? These pages will help!

T he second subtitle of this book has been dubbed, The Apocalypse . Now, you ask yourself, why would she stigmatize her book with such a foreboding label? That is an excellent ques tion.
Apocalypse is usually associated with the biblical understanding of the word, the end game of the war between good and evil. This confrontation is usually pictured in the mind’s eye as horrific, bloody, and above all else, a deadly conflict. If you go further back from the modern understanding of the word and read up on the etymology for the word apocalypse, you will find the following from the Merriam Webster online dictionary, and you will have a better understanding of my actions - the original Greek version of the word means uncovering, disclosure, revelation … to cover, protect, conceal
.¹
I am aiming to, and hopefully accomplishing, the task of uncovering the evil of misinformation and untruths that abound in our (flat?) world. I endeavour to awaken your instinct that will guide you to truths, to true knowledge, as well as uncovering your deeply buried childlike questioning of everything and all that you encounter. Why is the sky blue? Why can a sunset be pink? If the earth is actually round, why is there no curvature on the horizon when I can see for miles and miles? If gravity is a law, and all things fall towards the earth, how can a tree or a flower grow towards the sun and not fall towards the earth from whence it emerges?
Yes, there is much to uncover and disclose, and in so doing the final confrontation between good and evil might come to pass. I doubt my book will have much to do with it but the inner conflict of good (truth) and evil (untruths) that reside in each one of us might be affected just a tad. I would surely like for that eventuality to come to pass. I would like to get you - all of you - to ask the questions, poke that authority figure, needle the person who feels that they know it all, and beyond all of that, question what you believe to be true and sacrosanct and to stop the programming that is taking place daily in our world. Be one of the awakened ones and lead your own team to the riches of pure truth and knowledge. I know you can do it; after all, you took the first step by purchasing this stimulating tome.
The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.

I have my immensely wonderful son Zac to thank for the title of this book - it was his favourite saying when things just pissed him off. These people and events that angered him because he didn’t want it/them to be true and/or real and in his physical, material world. As in going from 50 and 60 hour study weeks in acting school, which he loved, to 35 hours of mind-numbing work delivering food and prepping the kitchen. Gotta pay the rent and have money for food. After asking him how he’s doing, the pat answer was This is such bullshit.
The upwards-of 60 hours in school was a joy, it was intense, busy, all encompassing but totally amazing as he loved what he studied, it fed him and fuelled him. The 35 hours of a job
that is being performed solely in order to make some money so that he can go back to loving life is the bullshit part. He has been using this phrase for years, and you know what, he is totally 100% correct. It is bull shit.
READ THIS SECOND (I’LL KNOW IF YOU DIDN’T)
B ullshit - what a word. We all know it, some of us use it often and others find it incredibly vulgar. The Merriam Webster online dictionary actually states that the term is usually thought of as a vulgar term, and perhaps because it is so thought of, the word endears itself to me even more. The aforementioned dictionary defines bullshit this way; nonsense especially: foolish insolent talk… to talk foolishly, boastfully, or idly… to engage in a discursive discussion… to talk nonsense to especially with the intention of deceiving or misleadin g.

So, I am going to be renaming a ton of what we have collectively learned throughout our lives as nonsense - to put it in politically correct terms. I promise you - this is the first, last and only time I will be politically correct in this book. It is not in my nature to pander to the dictates of society, and now that I am of a certain age I have bestowed upon myself the right to be 100% myself with the vast majority of filters taken off, burned, destroyed, stomped on, knifed, shot and buried. If you find this disturbing to your sensibilities then you
