    Preface

I struggled while contemplating this manuscript. In fact, the same questions would circulate throughout the entire process. Am I worthy of writing this book? Will anyone understand what I am attempting to convey? Will these words put a target on my back? I will admit that the feeling of being exposed is oftentimes overwhelming…for being vulnerable to criticism and ostracized for my beliefs are deep triggers. As a result, I have spent most of my life hiding who I am…preferring the safe spaces of anonymity and the inconspicuous.

I am slowly learning, however, that life doesn’t value safety and comfort as much as it does exploration and bold experiences. The human experience is not about cowering in fear. We need ingenuity and courageous action to propel our nature to unfold in intricate and unexpected ways. This manuscript represents a courageous act to unleash my voice… and to let go of fears that have plagued me since childhood. I trust that Spirit will put this message in the hands of those who are ready to listen.

    Dedication I

Some years ago I married a beautiful man. Steven was a gorgeous, tall, extreme athlete and an accomplished lawyer. He was kind and absolutely in love with me. Our marriage was a very good one, and we had a life of privilege. We traveled around the globe and our children thrived.
