About this ebook

On the mystical planet Vortex, the Nelson family resides in the rain forest of Humboldt County. Their sons, Scottie and Stephen, are identical twins who have very different views about their magical powers. Scottie believes his abilities lie within his hair and provide him with the power to levitate objects in the air. Stephen believes his powers are in gold and surrounds himself with rings, coins, and other treasures to help him move items. But everything is about to change when the twins’ uncle gives Scottie and Stephen a beautiful moon bird for their eleventh birthdays.
The boys name the bird Sing Sing and they soon discover that the bird can talk. While Sing Sing mesmerizes the boys with tales of magic and alchemy, he also tells them that through positive affirmations and the power of attraction, they have the ability within to harness fire, water, wind, the earth, and the magic of their words to manifest their destiny. As the twins are transported on a journey to unlock their hidden potential, they must learn all the skills to craft a new life for themselves while helping others in the process. Will they reach the Magic School safely?

A lot of things in 1992 were happening to Mr. Scottie Nelson’s health. The doctors reported that he had shingles! Nobody really wanted to be around Scottie because he looked like a monster! He had singles scabs all over his head; in fact, people could not see his face because of the many scars. Some of the scars were very near his right eye. People kept their distance; perhaps they were afraid that they would catch the disease.

Over time, this condition caused multiple pains to start all through Scottie’s body. Finally, the singles developed into multiple sclerosis. Scottie started losing control on the right side of his body. His right arm, right hand, and his right foot felt ice cold and they looked blue all the time. Then his right leg stopped working; it was paralyzed.

As the years went on, Scottie’s right eye started shaking up and down super fast. It was kind of like a flashing camera, and the flashing made him very sick. Scottie could not see well out of his right eye because of the shaking, and there was a spot in his right eye that seemed to cast a cloud in the vision of that eye as well!

Over the years, Scottie developed skills in his mind. One day, Scottie thought, How can I help somebody other than myself? Scottie began to think harder. Everybody helps me so much all the time! I should help the universe in return to show my appreciation.

Every morning, Scottie watched his neighbors in his building complex drive away in their cars for work. He would be left behind in his duplex. For Scottie to go work for himself was impossible. Sitting in his duplex by himself, Scottie felt guilty, worthless, and unworthy because he was not able to help himself, the universe, or other people with problems.

This was what Scottie did to help him feel worth something in this world: At six o’clock every Thursday morning, Scottie went out into his building complex and brought everybody’s garbage cans back into their front yards. He did this without asking or telling his neighbors. He was able to do it because he had a motorized wheelchair! Scottie would pull all the garbage cans backward to the yards with the use of his wheelchair. This went on for years. He had developed something in his mind, and by helping other people, his health seem to be much better, Scottie’s life had improved as well.

Every week, Scottie would help his neighbors secretly, and he would see miracles happening to him all the time—like one day when he tried to pay extra money for a speaker he bought at a rummage sale. He had bought two speaker, and hadn’t noticed that each had been marked five dollars. However, he had been charged only five dollars for both speakers. Two days later, he noticed there were price tags on both speakers. This bothered Scottie inside his mind as well as in his body! So he decided to take five dollars back to the rummage sale and tell them they had undercharged him.

Scottie was waiting very patiently for somebody to walk out of the rummage sale, since it was hard for him to open the door from his wheelchair. As soon as someone opened the door, he would just drive his wheelchair right into the rummage sale and pay them the five dollars. A car was parked right by the front door. Before anyone opened the door for Scottie, a man got out of the car. As he opened the door, he handed Scottie a twenty-dollar bill.

The day being perhaps paralyzed on the floor for Scottie, being unable to receive the things he needed, like helping Scottie get up off the floor into his wheelchair because he fell out of it! Multiple sclerosis causes paralysis, which makes life difficult and frustrating. The
