And on Earth without changes - Christopher T. Dabrowski

    Contact

They finally arrived, revealed their existence. A spaceship hung over the city.

Humanity gathered in front of the TV.

The vehicle landed. All viewers held their breaths.

People came out... The disappointment was on billions of faces.

What? They are just like us!

The light-year ago, the alien ship - the message from the probe:

There is an intelligent life form there

They've found another civilisation! After the aeons spent in emptiness, they come across an oasis of life.

Watching the first transmission, they wiped their eyes with amazement.

After all, they are just like us! Wonderful!

    The great joy ruled.

    The Burglary

    - Stop! - The guard screamed, pointing at the blaster.

    - I give up! - The burglar begged. - Do not kill me, please!

    - Give back the data disc!

    He gave it back.

    - Telepath! Check him out!

    - He has a photographic memory. He remembers all the data from the disk.

    The guard shot him.

    ***

The fools didn’t know one thing. I made a copy of the disc for myself. The killed person remembered the last fifteen minutes. He telepathically sent me company’s secrets. He sent me all the data.

The camera recorded the burglar. He was killed. I have secret data. I am the master!

    The Tough Morning

When I woke up, I was at risk of depression. That's what the daily report showed. Fortunately, the bio-controller implant triggered a dopamine surge.

Just in case, the algorithm composed an anti-depressive song based on the analysis of my favourite mood-enhancing songs.

The food processor made a joy-inducing dish.

I ate breakfast while watching a film created by special algorithms. I liked it, as it met my expectations. The cast featured my favourite actors, both living and dead. Perfect digital copies.

Then I received recommendations on how to act to improve the next incarnation and I could start my day.

    Submerged In The Snare

Hopelessness. An abyss of unbridled sadness. Lack of strength for anything. I sit on my bed for hours looking at the wall. I'm hungry, but I have no energy to get up. Everything's meaningless. Hunger isn't as bad as the pain of existence. Scabs on my hands. Dumb razor.       But it's just a temporary distraction and it doesn't help anymore.

The desire for non-existence is increasing.

    ***

We've been watching him for weeks. A virtual man in a virtual world. The simulation.

    ***

Introducing Mr Depresivo5 - the scientist smiled presenting the first artificial intelligence that wasn't going to get out of control.

    The Painless Brakeup

She wondered what she could do. How to leave him without making him suffer?

She couldn't fight her feelings for Sean, who was soon flying with an interstellar mission and wanted her to accompany him. But she didn't want to hurt Josh - they had been best friends since childhood.

She confided in Ming and he found a solution.

A week later she was sitting in the lab next to her copy - an android - and letting her mind rip into the artificial brain.

All that remains is to activate the artificial ageing, the undying love for Josh and...

    She'll be free!

    The Humanity

    - But I'm a human being.

    - No, you're not.

We were on movies he was the one who cried.

I wasn't. These cheap tricks don't work on
