About this ebook
My whole life, I've been a really creative person in everything I do, but my favorite thing is to write. Ideas come to me, and I have found myself writing short stories and even books.
This is the first book I have written. It consists of things I have heard involving myself and what people have done for me at any given time or place. This
Scott Lee Mosure
I really don't brag about myself, so I don't really have anything to say, but I do know if you work hard and have the determination to do it. My mind is a pyramid of nothing but creative ideas, and it seems like there were many ideas that it led to writing a book. I never really had any goals in life. I just wanted to finish high school and get my diploma. I was born in California and raised in Indiana. I never thought I could make something of myself, so I just hung out a lot. Once again, thank you for all the bad and the good that got me to where I am today because the bad and the good in life have helped me and made me stronger!

1EXT. SIDEWALK – DAY
Scott and Josh, friends for six years, are walking down the sidewalk. There are some other people walking with them.
SCOTT
Hey, if I could go back the year of 1996 I would.
JOSH
(looking at Scott)
Really, why’s that?
SCOTT
Because I would have talk to more people and especially the girls, and if I did go back to the year of 1996, I would talk to this one girl who I always wanted to talk to.
JOSH
(stops walking)
Who would you talk to back in 1996?
SCOTT
Someone, some girl.
JOSH
(sighing)
Listen, Scott, you know how people say that a lot of stuff is better left unsaid? Trust me, Scott, there is a lot of things in your life that was going to happen, but it never took place—a lot of things that you probably heard and you don’t want to look back on. I mean what’s the point, Scott? You should be happy that you are alive today. At one time, did you have friend who told you a lot of things?
SCOTT
Yeah, Josh, is like you two were something else. Okay, I think that I know where you are coming from.
JOSH
You know how many people have stood up for you and look after you and had your back no matter what and look up to you as a brother.
SCOTT
Maybe half of this town.
JOSH
Yeah, maybe at one time, but don’t worry about that. Worry about you and only you. Set yourself some goals and take it from there.
SCOTT
Yeah, but if I don’t know the past, then what am I going to look forward to the future? I know that sounds dumb, but that’s the way that I see it. I have found that if I look into my past and think about what I did so wrong, then I’ll know what to do in the present right know.
JOSH
(looking down at his feet and looking back up at Scott)
You know all the things that you want to know that happened back in the day and figured it all out. And if you would see this and that, you would proudly be running away from a gang fight.
SCOTT
Why’s that?
JOSH
Because you knew so much and saw so much. Do you get me, Scott?
SCOTT
Well yeah.
JOSH
A lot of people look up to you, Scott. Just remember that, okay? Now I got to get going. I’ll catch you later, Scott. Will talk later.
SCOTT
Okay.
Scott and Josh slap hands. When Scott is walking away from Josh, Josh sees someone coming up to Scott with a baseball bat. Scott is suddenly struck in the head (show the baseball bat going in slow motion) When the baseball bat hits Scott, he drops to his knees and falls to the side on the grass.
2INT. HOSPITAL – DAY
Scott is in the hospital; his head is all wrap up in gauze. Sitting beside Scott is his parents. The doctor walks in.
SCOTT’S MOM
Is Scott going to be okay?
DOCTOR
Yes, he’s going to be okay, but it’s going to be a while before he wakes up. But I promise you he’ll be fine.
Wide shot of the hospital room. Show Scott sitting up on his bed with the doctor and his mom and dad.
FADE TO BLACK
3INT. SCOTT’S ROOM - DAY
Scott is lying in the bed of the old house that he use to live in. He opens his eyes, shuts them. He opens his eyes again. Scott looks across the room and sees his speakers and TV. He jumps up from his bed and feels his head. Scott’s mom rushes in.
SCOTT’S MOM
Scott, are you okay?
SCOTT
What did the doctor say about my head?
SCOTT’S MOM
What do you mean?
SCOTT
(looking at his mom)
Are you feeling okay?
SCOTT’S MOM
Yeah, are you feeling okay?
SCOTT
Well, today I am going to drive around—
SCOTT’S MOM
(interrupting)
No, you are not.
SCOTT
Why?
SCOTT’S MOM
You don’t even live in this house anymore. When are you—
Scott suddenly runs out of his room, down the stairs through the living room, and to the kitchen. He shuts the side door to the house and runs out to the street.
Scott looks across the street and sees a white house with a sidewalk that leads to a little room. Three big guys walk out from the white house start to walk out of it. To his right (over-the-shoulder shot) Scott looks at a brown house, where thirteen teenagers come running.
TEENAGER 1
Well, should we go over there and whip his ass?
TEENAGER 2
Get that motherfucker.
TEENAGER 3, GUY
(holding a girl in front of him)
Now, let’s don’t. Maybe some of the stuff that we heard was not true at all. I mean come on, who the hell could rape thirty-six girls in one day or supposedly kill someone and destroy all the evidence with the cops not even knowing it? I don’t believe half that stuff.
Scott just keeps looking over at the thirteen teenagers. Scott walks back in the house, walks around the kitchen table, and sits down. All of a sudden, Scott’s mom walks in the room.
SCOTT
(looking up at his mom)
What is the year?
SCOTT’S MOM
(sighing)
The year is 1996. Are you feeling okay, Scott?
SCOTT
I am now, Mom. It’s time to get things right the way they should be.
All of a sudden the phone rings. Scott picks up the phone.
SCOTT
Hello.
JOSH
(voice coming from the other end of the line)
Scott, are you going to play basketball over at Saint Joe today?
SCOTT
I… Yeah, what time are you going to be there?
JOSH
At four o’clock.
SCOTT
Okay, I’ll be there.
Scott hangs up the phone. All of a sudden, there’s a knock on the door.
SCOTT
Come in.
A guy comes into the kitchen. Scott’s eyes lights up.
SCOTT
Hey, Ray, what’s up? How have you been? It’s been a while since I seen you.
RAY
Wow, you just saw me yesterday, Scott.
SCOTT
I did?
RAY
Yeah, Scott. Are you feeling okay, Scott?
SCOTT
Yeah I feel fine.
Ray looks at Scott.
RAY
Let’s go outside, you don’t look so good".
SCOTT
You think that’s a good idea, to go outside?
RAY
Yeah, don’t worry. Nobody is going to do nothing.
Ray and Scott walk out of Scott’s house. In a distance someone is taking pictures of Scott and Ray.
RAY
(looking at Scott)
You know, Scott, I have told you a lot of things. Do you remember when we were all hanging behind Matt’s house?
CUT TO FLASHBACK
Ray and Scott are hanging out with friends behind Matt’s house.
RAY
(turning to Scott)
Hey, Scott, can I trust you if I told you something, Scott? Would you promise not to tell my foster parents?
SCOTT
Yeah sure.
RAY
Because I feel like I can trust you a lot.
CUT TO PRESENT
Ray and Scott walk down the street.
SCOTT
(looking at Ray)
When was that?
RAY
Six months ago.
SCOTT
Yeah, I heard that some people wanted to kick us out.
A guy runs across the road, taking a picture of Ray and Scott walking down the road.
CUT TO BLACK-AND-WHITE SNAPSHOT OF THE TWO
CUT BACK TO SCOTT AND RAY
RAY
Well let me tell you something, Scott. No one ain’t going to do shit.
All of a sudden, three guys run across the road behind Ray and Scott. Each has a camera in his hands. All of them take a picture of Scott and Ray.
4INT. ROOM - DAY
There are three groups of people in the room. They all talk about Ray and Scott.
GUY 1
Yeah, once I get a hold of Scott and Ray, they are fucking dead.
GUY 2
Not unless I get to them first. Hell we don’t even know what they look like. I heard that one of them looks tall and could whip some ass and really quiet too, and you got to look after through kinda of people.
Another group starts talking.
GUY 3
All I know is these guys, Scott and Ray, are going to fall because I heard so much that they did, and I also saw some proof of some things they did.
The three guys who took photos of Scott and Ray suddenly lay the photos down.
GUY 4
Okay, now we know what we are looking at. The tall one is Scott. The other one here is Ray. Now this picture right here scares me pointless. If you look at the photo right here, Scott has his head kinda turned around. It’s like he had a sense of us being behind him.
5EXT. COURTHOUSE – NIGHT
Scott and Ray sit in front of the courthouse. It’s darktime.
SCOTT
I remember you telling me something like this.
RAY
(looking at Scott in a strange way)
You know, Scott, we could die tonight.
SCOTT
(leaning back)
Yeah right, dude. Did I tell you that the people that are after us are part of the—
Scott and Ray look at each other.
SCOTT
The mob.
RAY
(leaning back, smoke coming out of his mouth)
Yeah, how did you know? How the fuck did you know that?
Ray and Scott hear skid marks of a car. They both look up and see a black cap huge car with good rims.
RAY
Okay, there’s our friends.
SCOTT
Who?
RAY
(looking at Scott)
The mob.
SCOTT
How do you know that? Why do you think that?
RAY
Look, they are driving two miles per hour in a thirty-mile lane. Plus, never seen that car around.
The car goes past them. The guy on the passenger side pulls out a machine gun. Right under the gun there’s a blue rag. The machine gun goes out the window and fires at Ray and Scott. Scott and Ray jump up from the stairs and run out to the side of the road. Show wide shot of Ray and Scott running down the road with the car behind them with its lights on.
SCOTT
Okay, Ray.
RAY
Hey, Scott, see that alley to your right?
SCOTT
Yeah.
RAY
Run down that alley while I run down this alley to my left.
SCOTT
Okay, go now.
Aerial view of Scott and Ray go down the two alleys. The car stops in the middle of street between the two alleys.
Cut to the four guys in the car. They look to the right, where Scott is running. Then all the guys look to the left, where Ray is running down the alley. They look left and right, confused as to which one to get first.
GUY 1
We should get Scott.
GUY 2
Let’s get Ray. He know too much.
GUY 3
Oh fuck, Scott knows things too. But without Ray, Scott wouldn’t know nothing. Let’s get Ray.
The black big car goes down the left alley.
RAY
(looking at the car behind him)
Ooh shit.
Show Scott running and stopping when he hears gunshots. Scott turns around (close up to Scott’s face) He starts to run toward the alley that Ray is down at. He hears more gunshots and runs down the alley where Ray is at.
Cut to aerial shot of Scott running up to the black car.
Cut to Scott walking toward Ray. Show two dead guys on the ground, one dead guy on the top of the hood of the car, and another dead guy on the ground with his mouth open and eyes wide open. Ray has blood on his white shirt.
RAY
Did you see the look on their faces? They didn’t think that I would do something, but I did.
SCOTT
How did you get the machine gun?
RAY
You see that, behind you.
Scott turns around and sees a roomful of people looking at him. All of a sudden, the door shuts close.
SCOTT
(turning around to Ray)
Okay, forget that I ask.
RAY
(looking at Scott)
Let’s get rid of this car.
SCOTT
Why?
RAY
Damn, I just killed four more guys, and they got a good car.
SCOTT
Hey.
RAY
Get in the car.
Scott and Ray grab the dead guy off the hood of the car as they both get in the car and shut the door. They back up from the alley to the road.
RAY
Hey, Scott, look in the glove compartment. Scott opens up the glove compartment, and papers fall from it. There’s a big notebook that has Scott and Ray’s name on it.
RAY
(looking over)
Hey, I’ve been looking for that.
SCOTT
Okay, now we got a tape here that has both of our names on it.
RAY
Hey, take that home and watch that.
Ray and Scott stop the car, and they get out of the car at the same time.
RAY
Let’s push this car in to the lake.
Scott and Ray push the car into the lake.
RAY
(looking at Scott)
Don’t tell no one what happened.
SCOTT
Okay.
RAY
Take that tape home and watch it. You’ll be surprised with what you see.
SCOTT
Okay.
6INT. SCOTT’S HOUSE - DAY
Scott sits in the living room, looking at the tape. He suddenly gets up and strps toward the TV, his heart thumping. Scott turns on the TV and VCR. He takes a deep breath. There’s a sudden knock on the door. Scott turns off the TV and the VCR and opens the door. It’s Josh.
JOSH
Scott, you ready to do this?
SCOTT
What are you talking about?
JOSH
Scott, let’s go to Saint Joe and play some basketball.
SCOTT
Hell yeah.
Scott and Josh start to walk down the sidewalk. Car after car goes by Josh and Scott. In one car that goes by Scott and Josh, there are three girls in a convertible with the top down. They all see Scott and Josh.
GIRLS
(talking among themselves)
Damn, that is Scott Mosure. I heard a lot about him.
Another car goes by. It’s a big black car with chrome rims and a good sound system. The guy inside is wearing a blue badana and blasting the song, Ain’t Nothing but a G Thang,
Snoop Dogg. He pulls over next to Josh and Scott. Scott and Josh look over at the guy.
SCOTT
Oh shit, what’s up, man?
Josh walks over to the car. Josh and the guy in the car talk a little bit. Josh turns around and looks at the guy in the car. All of a sudden, Scott’s eyes got really big. Scott jumps in the back. Josh gets in the front.
GUY IN THE BLACK CAR
(looking at the rearview mirror)
Hey, don’t I know you?
SCOTT
(leaning back)
I have a feeling that a lot of people known me, but I don’t know them.
GUY IN THE BLACK CAR
I heard what happened the other night. Ray told me all about it.
SCOTT
You known Ray?
GUY IN THE BLACK CAR
Yeah, Ray talks about you a lot so much that I feel like I can trust you with my life, and that’s for real.
SCOTT
What’s your name.
GUY IN THE BLACK CAR
My name is Jim Bo. Hey, Scott, do you smoke pot?
Scott and Josh enter the big black car. Three cars follow them. Show the people in one car—two girls and two guys.
GIRL 1
Damn, I have nothing on nobody hurts Scott from all the stuff that I heard about him.
GIRL 2
Yeah, I know. God, if I could have my way with him, he would be so happy he could get woman.
Show four good-looking girls in a blue cap in another car. The song I should but I won’t
by Monica is playing in the background.
GIRL 3
Damn, I wish I could talk to Scott. I want a serious relationship with him. I love him to death.
Two girls in the back of the car lean up toward Gunmen.
GIRL 4 AND GIRL 5
(simultaneously)
Really? Why’s that, Gunmen.
GUNMEN
Because we both go back way back when we were kids. When we first met each other, we got along.
GIRL 6
I only… Well, all of us have only known you for like a month. How did you hear about Scott? And you are from another town.
GUNMEN
(looking at Girl 6 in the rearview mirror)
That’s a wild guess.
CUT TO FLASHBACK (GUNMEN’S POV)
Zoom in to Gunmen’s eyes, then show flashback.
Show Ray and Scott getting shot at. Ray has the machine gun in his hand. Ray is in the alley standing over the guys that he killed.
CUT TO PRESENT
Close up to Gunmen’s eyes in the rearview mirror.
GUNMEN
Right after the alley thing, I got a call from my friends that hook me up with stuff, and I told them that if they ever needed me, then call me up. They told me what happened, then I ask who’s in trouble with these boys. The first name that I heard was Ray, but the second name that I heard—I couldn’t believe it—they told me Scott Mosure. And I was like what? I’ll be right there. Hell, you know what I am doing, watching Scott’s house. I am even watching Scott’s house from a roof top of another house.
GIRL 1
Damn.
GWEN
Yeah, a lot of people want to kick Scott’s ass for no reason. People have been hearing about Scott being a killer and a rapist. These people have been telling the cops about these things, but there is no evidence. Scott is clean. As a motherfucker, I wonder what Scott and Ray are doing with Jim Bo.
7INT. BIG BLACK CAR - DAY
Show Scott in the big black car. Scott is in the back with a pipe in his hand, smoking pot.
RAY
Hey, let me hit that, Scott.
SCOTT
Ray, where are the girls at?
RAY
I’ll show you where the girls are at.
SCOTT
(with red eyes)
Okay.
Show aerial view of the black car driving down the road. Scott and Ray get into town and drive up to a big house. The house has windows across the floor. As Ray and Scott get out of the car, Ray turns to Scott.
RAY
Now, Scott, don’t get scared when we go up in this house.
Ray starts to laugh.
SCOTT
What are you laughing at?
RAY
I never thought that I would see you high in my life.
SCOTT
(smiling slightly)
Yeah, I never thought that I would be here with you in the year 1996.
RAY
Scott, I trust you with my life.
SCOTT
Ray, I know that.
Scott and Ray walk around the door. The door opens, and there is a good-looking girl there with blond hair, blue eyes, curly hair. She smiles and looks at Ray.
BLONDE GIRL
Damn I haven’t seen you in a while. Hey, who’s that?
RAY
that’s Scott Mosure.
BLONDE GIRL
(eyes getting really big)
Damn flues, you two come in.
As Ray and Scott enter the house, they both hear music pounding up stairs. Ray and Scott go up the staircase. The girl was at the door and is following Scott from behind. Going up the stairs, the girl puts her arm around Scott’s stomach. Scott stops, and she stops right there on the stairs. She puts her head on Scott’s back.
BLONDE GIRL
I wish that I could have you, but I don’t even know you. I just heard a lot about you, Scott.
RAY
(reaching the top of the stairs)
Hey, Scott and Jamie Cupply, let’s get to this party.
Scott’s eyes got real big. He turns around and gives Jamie a kiss.
RAY
I got business to take care of.
Scott and Jamie walk up the stairs and stop at a door.
RAY
(looking at Scott)
Whatever you see or do in this house, don’t tell no one.
Ray opens the door. The song I Should but I Won’t
by Monica blasts from the party. As Ray and Scott and Jamie walk in the room, they see four black girls dancing in circle. They see a bed where two guys are smoking pot from a pipe. Two girls are leaning against a wall, shooting up a coke with their noses.
RAY
(turning to Jamie and Scott)
Hey, could you two wait. I mean sit over there for a bit.
SCOTT AND JAMIE
Yeah.
Jamie and Scott walk over to the love seat, and they sit down.
JAMIE
Scott, you don’t mind if I lean on you, do you?
She puts her head on Scott’s shoulder
SCOTT
(putting his arm around Jamie)
No, I don’t mind.
JAMIE
You know, Scott, when I am with you, I feel safe.
All of a sudden, Jamie looks up and sees Ray across the room, yelling at two guys. Ray is yelling about a deal that went bad.
RAY
You two motherfucks don’t know nothing. That could have been an undercover cop.
SCOTT
Oh, shit.
JAMIE
Scott, could you go over there and calm him down?
Scott was about to get up, but someone suddenly comes up right out of nowhere and puts a gun to Scott’s forehead.
GUY WITH THE GUN
Who the fuck are you?
Ray walks up to the guy with the gun and whispers in the guy’s ear about something. The guy nods his head ad walks away.
RAY
(looking at Jamie and Scott)
You two, get ready to go home. Let’s go.
The three of them leave the house through the front door and walk to the driveway. A cop goes by and looks at all three of them. He takes a couple of pictures of Ray, Scott, and Jamie.
CUT TO BLACK-AND-WHITE SNAPSHOT OF THE THREE
8EXT. SAINT JOE - DAY
The next day.
Scott is playing basketball over at Saint Joe. It’s a nice day out. In the distance, there’s a house with ten people watching him from a distance. The house has three steps in the front. Show the people that are watching Scott.
GUY 1
I tell you one thing. Scott is a good basketball player.

SCOTT
I hope nobody shoots at me with a gun.
Scott suddenly looks out to the road and sees a big blue car.
SCOTT
Hey, you, come here. I wanna talk to you. You look cute.
SCOTT
(to himself)
What the fuck am I doing? This girl wants to have my kid.
Cut to the house with people who are watching Scott. Five girls get up really fast and start to run toward him.
GIRL IN THE BLUE CAR
Hang on, Scott. I’ll be right there.
Three cars suddenly come up from behind Scott. When he turns around, Scott sees the three cars—red, blue, and gold—with four big black guys in each car. Three big black guys suddenly get out of the three cars. Each has a blue bandana on the head. All of them walk up to Scott. Then five girls run toward Scott; all have guns pulled out. The black guys surround Scott.
BLACK GUY
We know where—
There’s a fence behind Scott. Show side of the fence where thirty people are jumping over. They surround the blue, red, and gold cars as well as the four guys that are around Scott.
BLACK GUY
(looking at Scott)
Scott, you got lucky today. People ran over here to back you up. That is good.

Scott lies on his bed. Show room’s interior in a circular motion. Scott’s voice can be heard while the room is being shown.
SCOTT’S VOICE IN THE BACKGROUND
Man, I never thought all the things that I heard, that I am going to live it.
Cut to close up of Scott’s face. Scott leans up on his bed, puts his hands on his face and through his hair, looks to the left, and looks on the floor. On the floor, Scott sees the tape that Ray told him to watch.
SCOTT
Okay, I am going to watch that tape.
Scott puts the tape in VCR, turns on the TV, and turns it to channel three. He presses play on the VCR remote. Scott can see on the tape there’s a party at a house. People are getting high and doing lines of coke on a table. Then the tape cuts to the black. Scott suddenly sees his own house on the tape in the background. Scott can hear people saying, If people start their shit, I’ll fuck them up.
On the tape, people are running around Scott’s house. A car suddenly comes up of nowhere. Someone has a machine gun and fires at Scott’s house.
SCOTT
What the fuck.
The people running around Scott’s house fire back at the guy in the car. The car suddenly takes off. Scott turns off the tape. Scott leans forward and puts his hands on his forehead.
SCOTT
Ooh shit, having too many people know you can really get you into trouble.
Scott reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bowel and a bag of weed. Scott packs a bowel and starts to smoke from his pipe. He suddenly hears a car with a sound system playing You Can Do It
