About this ebook

The Beginning of My BS is a poetic collection that explores the roller coaster of emotions and experiences that accompany adolescence

I write when I am filled with emotion

When I am sad

When I am angry

I write because I am not good at talking about my feelings

I don’t like seeming weak in the eyes of others.

If I talk I might cry

And if I cry I might create an ocean

So I will continue to waste ink

And keep moving this pen along this paper till I am numb and there are no more tears to cry.

This work of poetry takes readers on a personal journey of pain, love, and self-expression. It finds a way to your heart and reignites a feeling of strength. The author craftily grabs a hold of emotions, shakes them up, and leaves them to heal.

—Stephanie Spaete, teacher of literature, studied English language at Texas Women’s University

Roma Mazumdar creates a vivid, yet authentic evocation of the stark facets of reality. Readers will be unblinded as she uncovers the hidden veils that are so deeply intertwined in society.

—Peyton Williams, student at Harvard University and poem enthusiast

    Preface

    I read a poem once

    It made me feel things

It made tears grow from my eyes

    It made me see differently.

I’d like to create something that did the same one day.

    My First Ever

It’s thrown and tossed as if it were a ball that didn’t matter if lost

So casually as if it was dust; flowing and growing out of our mouths

With ease we spit it out.

For some receiving it, it’s like a bullet
