Deception of a Mirror - Keshaun Lang
THE MAN WITHOUT A BEARD
There once was a man with no beard who couldn’t hide his face, away from the shame of his life that lies in the waste.
In his mind…
there’s a place, and time to make right the wrong that kept him so strong as he prolonged to move it along with grace.
An alien of his nation and his world he tried to adhere, as he lives a life that cannot be hid beneath a beard.
It all seems so weird… and uncanny, so unpleasing to be in a position of unreasoning tears.
Maybe there’s potential to pretend as he takes in a breath and starts shaving his face,
But only leaves marks in the place where a beard would hide the Identity he tries to misplace.
An identity that only God could see if he had a beard masking what he pretended to be…
Blinding us to believe what he wanted us to see, like on halloween night he’s disguising himself from people like you and me.
This man who’s mask he would use to eventually bring to life our fears, if only he could cover up this truth with a beard.
or a mustache…
Something to block the lies, of his mouth and maybe a head full of hair to cover the anger in his eyes.
But God has not blessed him with this disguise…
Just a blank face… for the world to see his true identity and race, no hair to lend him some aid… not even a trace.
His life is like his face, void with no way… plain, hard and hallow like a broken egg…
And painful like a broken leg, but there can never be a change for him… not even if he begged.
Change starts in the heart and progress to the mind, which is masked with anger and deception, we all can see his kind,
but for the man without a beard… For him the truth in himself will always be hard to find
NOT EVEN A THOUGHT
The forgotten one… forsaken son
Fighting for many… only loved by some
Nobody sees you… let’s call you the invisible one
Your only family rests beside you clinching tightly to their guns
Out here alone in a world full of souls
No one will remember yours until you’re gone
But you stay strong, because you have to
Like a cat be diligent of the trap or the rats will catch you
Friends at home eat the fruits of the spirit, you eating bad food
They rest in the Arc of safety, you’re in a world of doom
Hopefully you will survive after you hear the first BOOM
You got to make it through, to see your daughter bloom
Warrior in the sand, you stand with strength
Your motivation is knowing that you’re keeping family safe
And even though you’re not even a thought in their
