When nothing but trepidations engulf
And life’s source sinks like the day stand
A beam your face cannot embrace
The lips are frozen in a stance
Still I hope you laugh
I hope you laugh
Because there is always tomorrow

    DELICATESSEN

    Stumbling around in a daze

    Many scary things were seen

    Things unimaginable

    Were encompassed in the scene

    Thinking it was a play

    Because everyone was in costume

But then I realized things were real

As human flesh was being consumed

    Fried, baked and barbequed

    All the flesh on hand

    They ate out of control

    The delicious flesh of man.

Served like a feast for a king

The consumers ate on and on

    The taste that was indescribable

So, they left nothing but the bones

    I attempted to run

    But my feet were tied

    I was horrified beyond belief

    As tears filled my eyes

    Trying to ignore the scene

    They kept searching for me

    To devour my human flesh

I remained as still as could be

    I stayed in hiding

    Behind the shelf of life

    I wasn’t about to die

    Due to human strife

As the sun rose into the sky

    The demons disappeared

And now I could clearly see

That a night mare had had me.

    DALLAS

    My little man is Dallas

He is as handsome as can be

But he is so darn bad

Someone can have him for free

    He urinated on my rug

And chewed the furniture to pieces

    He dislikes his crate

And wants to sleep with me

He will not take a nap

And is only eight months old

    He gets into everything

    And want obey as told

    He is called a shorkie

Because he is a mixed breed

He is part Terrier and Shih Tzu

And is very easy to feed

I want to give him away

But then I change my mind

    He is so sweet

    Loving, playful and kind

He want do me any harm

And likes to cuddle in my arms

His name was written in my heart

    From the very first start

So I will keep him for now

And see what the future brings

He is my lil fur baby

    My puppy and my king.

    UNSPOKEN TRUTH

    Staring one in the face

    Blindly one refuses to see

    The unspoken truth

    That succumbs to reality

    Strangely one runs away

From the unspoken truth that exists

    Not admitting to the trues

That controls the ability to resist

    The unspoken truth

    Can devastate one’s heart

    Driven wreckless to the core

    That warns from the start

Unspoken the truth must be told

Because it cleanses and forgives the soul

    Destroying its evil demons

Thus allowing the unspoken truth to unfold.

    STICK PEOPLE

    Bony stick people

Are what we used to sketch

    Letting our creativity escape

    We drew our very best

With only sticks for a body

    The sketch would come alive

    Using our imagination

On canvas the stick people survived

    Dancing here and there

    Stick people on canvas lived

    Creating there dance lingo

    And moving flamboyantly

    However, they were only sticks

And only on canvas could exist

Because outside the canvas and paint

    They were only sticks.

    IN SEARCH OF ME

    Leaving the old world behind

I went in search of me

The journey was tedious and unkind

And not what I expected it to be

    There were so many things

That I had not paid attention too

    But my journey had begun

    So all things were new

    During my long search

    The journey kept reminding me

Not to tarry or look back

Or the past would engulf me

The journey helped me to search

    And finally I found me

    Standing tall and courageous

And as beautiful as could be

    We all have a journey

    That we must all complete

But it’s how you approach it

That makes it worth the seek

    There were difficult times

    That made my journey rough

    But I persevered

    And rose above the gulf

    So, search inside yourself

    And you will surely find

That your journey will lead you

To happiness and peace of mind.

    THE UNPAID DEBT

    We made history

    History didn’t make us

    History was a parasitic vampire

That survived on our blood, sweat and tears

    It kept our records tarnished

    So that it would exist

    Assuring self of nothing

    Thus profiting on our circumstance

Adding daily to the record book

As it deleted all of our trues

    Owing us a refund

    That history refuses to pay

It simply denies the debt owed

    That remains in the layaway.

    WHAT A WOMAN

What a woman, what a woman

    On November 7th, 2020

    History was made

A woman became vice president of the United States

    What a woman

To take on the weight of the world

    And fulfill the destiny

That God had chosen for her

    What a woman

To do what she has done

    To give up her life

And for the vice Presidency run

    Selected by the president elect

    To become his running mate

    She blazed a different trail

As she campaigned throughout the states.

    In preparing for her role

    She made her agenda known

    Kamala kept pushing on

And when the race was over she had won

    She united the people

With her knowledge and her smile

She is qualified for the role

And will represent all with dignity and style

    She is a spectacular woman

    And really is God sent

For God reserved this role for her

As the first female Vice President.

    GEORGE FLOYD

George Floyd was who he was

    And nothing can change that

But he didn’t deserve what he got

And that’s a matter of fact

He Had some skeletons in his closet

    And we were all aware

But he didn’t deserve what he got

    The policemen should have cared

The knee on the neck shouldn’t have been there

    They responded out of hate

    Instead of love

So the knee held Georges’ fate

    He cried out for help

But his cries went unheard by man

He was murdered on the scene

    By his fellow man

    But God heard his pleas

And could no longer see him suffer

    He had so much pity

    So he sent Georges’ mother

Who told George to let it go

And for him to suffer no more

For God has been watching from heavens’ door

So Come and go with me, just let it go

    Because God wants you home

    So he sent me

    To get you my son

For this is the way it has to be

    George took a final breath

    And gave up the ghost

    He ascended with this mother

To meet the Lord of host

I still wonder if he were white

What the outcome would have been

    Would he be alive

Would the knee still be on the scene?

    George had done somethings

That he was not proud of

    But God forgives

So who are we to judge.

God chose George to create a movement

For the entire world to see

    That America has not changed

And is the author of this atrocity

    America must repent

And let slavery and the old ways go

Because we are a different generation

And the old ways aren’t any more.

    74516.png

    OUT OF TOUCH

Out of touch with the century

And all that has gone wrong

    Out of touch with God

    That sits on the throne

He knows that he can rectify

The things man thinks he controls

But He wants man to realize

    His wonders to behold

    Man must acknowledge God

    In all that he does

    Keeping Him holy and supreme

    Allowing his faith to grow

    But man is so self-involved

    And so out of touch

    He thinks he is God

    And loves himself too much.

    74516.png

    EVERYONE LOVES A STRANGER

    Everyone loves a stranger

He, she, it, we, them, they or us

    Even when it is yourself

Because there are things about self

    That are never revealed

    The personality is aloof

    Questioning, one asks why

    As you struggle to sense

    That deep within lies another

The who that refuses to be exploited

    Or to be recognized

    The entity exists incognito

And is contented in another realm

That it protects and claims as home

    One must love the entity
