About this ebook

Pornography is rampant in today’s world. Elementary school kids waiting for a school bus in the morning can view porn on their tablet. Children on the playground can share porn with their friends on their smart phones. Yet on Sundays, people can walk around the church and pretend pornography is not a problem.

In Beyond Porn, author Paul S. Heidenfelder explains how we can move beyond pornography and experience a much greater life—a life more rewarding than some people can even imagine. While the world can tempt us and challenge our morality, the Bible has incredible promises far greater than anything the material world can offer. Beyond Porn can show you these promises and help you to draw near enough to God to walk in them.

Pornography is everywhere, and it is time for Christians to take this issue seriously. By learning what the Bible says about immorality and temptation, you can draw closer to God and begin walking in the Spirit. What supernatural events could be waiting for those who say no to sin—and yes to God?

Author

Paul S. Heidenfelder

Paul Heidenfelder has been a Christian for thirty-three years. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He has worked in Hollywood and experienced things most people don’t get a chance to see. God moved him out of the familiar to Wenatchee, Washington, at the age of twenty-four, and he raised a family there. Paul has been hiking down a mountain trail where no motorized vehicles are allowed and found pornography right in the path where people walk. Porn is everywhere. Paul witnesses to strangers to try to move them one step closer to a saving knowledge of Jesus, or if they are saved, to encourage them to draw nearer to God. This book is partly an outflow of that work. For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God. (1 Corinthians 1:26–29)

    INTRODUCTION

What if the Bible is true? How does this book and the God it talks about affect our lives today? I feel called by God to write this book, so that we will be fully aware of how great a salvation we can obtain, and what an incredible life we can have here on earth as we continually draw nearer to God.

What I want to do in this book is address the major problem that is holding hostage many men, both inside and outside of the church. That issue is pornography. It’s everywhere, but it’s not always in plain sight. I believe that in the church, the issue of porn is largely hidden. I want to bring this issue out into the light.

I started to become more aware about this issue after my wife and I decided to attend a seminar aimed at helping kids and parents talk to each other about sex. We wanted to learn what we could do to answer questions in a way that would honor God. We were prompted to attend because at a Christmas service, one of our grandsons—who was eight years old at the time—asked my wife, "What does virgin mean?" The other adult members who were there seemed to wipe their foreheads with the back of
