About this ebook

This is a serious message to the church. The Lord gave this deep revelation of the heavenly home and his desire to take us there just after getting rid of Judas. This message was meant to be a comfort to the remaining disciples who had been true to him while he walked on earth. Jesus does not share deep secrets with everyone. He gives all men a chance to choose him, but he does not force himself on any man. Judas had walked with the Lord for three-and-a-half years. He had seen all the miracles, and when he was sent out to cast out demons, he also had demonstrated power under special grace, but he made a choice to walk away from that grace and betray the King of kings. He is one man who kissed the door to heaven but still went to hell. How sad.

Maureen Mataranyika

Maureen Mataranyika was born in Zimbabwe, where she encountered God as a six-year-old. Her mother witnessed her hunger for God and began to prophetically call her Chimoto (English: “flame of fire”). In her several decades of service to the Lord, she has seen many miracles and healings to God’s glory, including the dead being raised. As an itinerant minister, she carries a tremendous and contagious burden to pray for revival in the UK. She leads the Ignite Global Prayer Ministries, with a church based in Sittingbourne, Kent, from which she models a life of prayer and the pursuit of God.

Having read this book, I consider it will be as challenging to the unsaved as to those who have answered the call of salvation. It is written in a very easy to read manner which causes the contents to really penetrate your soul. I can honestly say that by the end of the book, if I didn’t truly know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, I would have been flat on my face before the Lord shaking in terror. I really pray every reader will respond to the call of repentance in this well written and thought-provoking book.

Let Him who has an ear, hear what the Spirit of the LORD is saying to His bride through this book. Having read it, I believe a decision has to be made by everyone who reads it; love GOD totally, obey Him fully, serve HIM diligently. And, don’t be a carnal Christian but be led by the precious Holy Spirit. Worship Him in the beauty of holiness. This book is an alarm clock to wake up everyone, the hour is now, to worship Him in Spirit and in truth.

    Preface

I dedicate this book to those who love our Lord’s Appearing.

It has always been my desire to put in place a reading manual to prepare those who are expectant of the Lord’s coming – those who will hear the truth and act upon it.

I acknowledge the blessing of God to put in me a desire to seek the truth from His word and to share with those that long for His coming.

Philippians 3 v. 20, For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ…, Titus 2 v. 11-14, For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and Godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

I know many people hold different views as to when the Lord will appear, and I am not going to upset anyone with the order. Some believe He will come before the tribulation – some hold to the view of during the tribulation and others – after the tribulation. Whatever people believe, I am not going to be dogmatic but everyone is to be prepared for His coming as He promised and the disciples taught about it and we are encouraged to teach others about His coming.

It is important to note that those who believe in the Lord’s coming prepare for Him by living a holy life as we do not know when He will appear. We prepare for His coming by giving our lives to His service. We use the scriptures to comfort one another before He comes rather than scare one another.

Jesus is coming and the church has to preach this message and make sure it is heard by all. This is not the time to preach miracles, prosperity, success, influence, deliverance, and earthly acquisitions for we came with nothing and we take nothing out of this world.

    Maureen Mataranyika

    CHAPTER 1

    HE IS COMING AGAIN

When I was growing up, my mother taught us to memorize scriptures and the first scripture I memorized was John 14 v. 1-6:

    1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive ye unto myself; that where I am there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto Him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

He gives all men a chance to choose Him but He does not force himself on any man. Judas had walked with the Lord for three and a half years, he had seen all the miracles and when he was sent out to cast out demons he also had demonstrated power under special grace but he made a choice to walk away from that grace and betray the King of kings. He is one man who kissed the door to heaven but still went to hell. How sad.

The disciples were filled with sorrow when Jesus spoke of His departure. He starts by telling them not to be troubled. This phrase shows that the disciples were in fact greatly troubled. Some thought they had left the establishment to follow this Jesus, some had left well-payed jobs, some left wives, farms and projects; now the person they followed is basically telling them, ‘this is it, I am going,’ and there is some serious trouble brewing here. He can see through their speech that they are troubled by physical things and needs but He begins to point them to greater grace. He points out to them that what you see here is not houses, this is not where we belong, we are eternal beings living on earth for just a season. He introduces Heaven, an eternal home of mansions. They must look to an eternal hope, to a home of rest, a place He himself will prepare. Imagine a home where Jesus is the architect, where streets are laid with gold where the flowers never fade. He explains to them that He is the way there. Christ takes notice when we begin to spend most of our time troubled by earthly things. He knows when we become engrossed with daily needs and lose sleep over material acquisitions. He was saying He is the way to the Father and in this He meant when we seek to know Him, He will show us the Father. He is the one who leads us to the Father.

The disciples have questions; They are confused, Jesus has given His farewell speech. He talks of going away to a place where they cannot come with Him (yet). Yet He has been reassuring them from John 10 v. 10 that He was the Shepherd and also the door. Now that Judas has followed the dark path they look at each other concerned; we have already lost one friend and the leader is talking of going away, so who then is going to take care and protect us? Remember when the boat was sinking, who will come to our rescue; what of the bread and fish, who is going to provide and this Peter, whose prediction is to desert Jesus, who is going to comfort us? But Jesus says, Don’t worry, trust in God and trust also in Me. He immediately takes their focus from the seen to the unseen and introduces a heavenly subject, but Thomas exhibits more fear and trouble and further questions, How can we follow You and where is the way?

This anxiety about being left alone is clouding their vision, their perception and their hearts. Jesus shows them that to know Him is to know the Father. The disciples think back to all the works Jesus had accomplished. What are they thinking now: about Jesus; about His Father; water turned into wine; Lazarus rising from death to life; the five fish and loaves; the resurrection of Jairus daughter; walking on water; or Jesus telling the sea to be still? They have seen a lot of the Father at work through Christ. They cannot doubt now. Jesus predicts that all these works are child’s play compared to what they will do if they stay focused.
